Did anyone catch what Florentius said?

Sunfire is a ranged spell, and in the soul cairn there are switches you can hit with spells that cause them to open doors/gates.

To be fair, Howard did tell us we could upgrade our strongholds in an interview. If you guys dont believe me I can show you the quote. I should also have the video somewhere....let me see. The quote itself was "There are two forts. You can get your own and kind of trick them out" I may have missed a word or two, but that's what he said. Unless I'm misinterpreting this, it seems that we should have been able to upgrade them. Shame we cant.

Sage is a whining milk drinker but i think i agree that the caches don't exist...its not like this is the only time the game tells us of things we can't find and beta testers have been scouring the map for anything new since the codes were released. Also how would we open chests with a restoration spell that we can cast from far away? I doubt they would be able to make that work otherwise i would be able to open a chest menu from across the room by firing a sunfire ball at it and that would be stupid imo.
The only way i see this being viable is by having the spell work as an unlock spell but we would have to still get close to open it

I agree that it most likely doesnt exist, but it doesnt mean its set in stone. You never know.
Ashame you beta testers didnt ask bethesda about it, Too late now.

We didnt have direct contact with bethesda, guy.

Yes but he NEVER said you got to CHOOSE how to trick them out. Progressing the dawnguard questlines does upgrade your forts. Its just not something you get to choose yourself.
If that's really what he meant then he should've specified....I'm not trying to troll but honestly a lot of people thought it meant YOU could upgrade them. I can show you the thread from a while back where people were sayingnthis was the case. It just seems...misleading I don't know. The whole dlc does sometimes. It's fun, yeah, but I wanted to ACTUALLY block out the sun like the trailer implied, and I wanted to upgrade my castle like it sounded like I could.

Once again, not trying to troll or be obnoxious, but that's how I feel.

The internet is a horrible place.
Well it certainly was in this thread. I deleted 38 posts after it was horribly derailed and disrupted. Please guys if you see problems give a mod a shout via the report button and let us get to things early.

Thanks for understanding, now back on topic please.

You're really grasping for straws if you're trying to argue that you can upgrade the two Castles in Dawnguard.
I was just being technical. I don't agree with how it was implemented and I do think we were, once again, deceived by God Howard, but I was just listing examples of how he was wrong. Cut content? Nah.

There is dawnguard caches. The locations are hidden, If you get lucky you'll find a dawnguard riding a horse or walking by themselves saying they are on official business. Follow them or pickpocket them of their orders and key and you can get to a cache.

They don't have a lot in em, just some gold, a random leveled weapon and some cure disease potions and what-not.

Thats kinda lame. Was hoping for unique vampire hunting gear.

I didn't say anything wildly negative, did I? I just sort of expected that. That's all.

I went to my game store in town today and even the game sellers didnt like dawnguard. They said "usally when bethesda makes dlc they give you huge land to explore, I feel like im just playing dawnguard for the sake of it." I swear to god this is true and hes a casuel gamer. If they dont like the dlc god help their sales.

Caches are great and they do exist. Not everything in dawnguard has to be about vampire hunting. Exploring the lore behind the dawnguard in small little random encounters feels just right for this feature.

Actually, Arkay (I assume)DOES speak to Florentius, mostly because Florentius is a Priest of Arkay.
That isnt how Priests work, they have faith and they get blessings, they spread his word...the end. The divines dont speak to mortals

True, but then again, he always does seem to know exactly where to find things and stuff, and he always is told by Arkay. He never says "Scout So-and-so saw vampires kidnap your friend!" he says Arkay told him that vampires did it. He may be completely insane, but as Gunmar says, everyonce in a while, he says something that really makes sense.

Not true according to google lore:
"Prior to Alessia's pact with Akatosh, binding her soul to the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Amulet_of_Kings, many Aedra and http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Daedra were able to fully interact with Nirn and its population. However, even during this period, these eight Aedra are not known to have manifested physically on the planet, but communicated through dreams and visions"

If daedric princes are able to communicate with us then i'm sure the aedric divines are capable of doing the same...they might not be able to manifest but they can still speak to mortals in other ways as through prayers at shrines

If anyone is interested still I have found three Dawnguard caches and they can be lockpicked or use the key. The person I killed had a note stating where three were. One is east of the mill in Morthal on a little island. They are actually strong boxes. The second was under the dock at the Nightingale Inn and the third was outside of Winterhold under the great arch. No magic required. They had basic items, armor and weapons and some potions and jewels.

Thank you good sir, for staying on topic. And thanks for telling me that, I thought it was just some mumbo jumbo the Arkay dude made up.
