Did anyone catch what Florentius said?

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 7:12 pm

He mentions off hand that there are caches of items that have the Dawnguard Sigil on them and open if you cast Sun Fire on them.
Can anyone confirm this, or say where they found any?

Like the ice diving dragon in the trailer. Not cut. It's in the forgotten vale.

Like being unable to upgrade forts. They upgrade by themselves...so partially true.

Like half the npcs in the vampire fort being unused and dont even know your the new leader. I doubt that was cut, that was how they were meant to be, since other factions do that too.

But, yah. I heard that too. Have yet to come across any.

The ice diving dragons ARE in the game...there's actually two of them. You find them in the Forgotten Vale.

You CAN upgrade the forts, it's just not what any of us expected. You can repair the walkway to the Courtyard in Castle Volkihar and Forges, Enchanting Tables, and Alchemy Tables get added to Fort Dawnguard. As I said, nothing like what was alluded to, but it still technically qualifies as an upgrade.

And the only NPC's in Castle Volkihar that don't seem to recognize you as the leader are Ornjalf (or whatever his name is) and the NPC's that just talk about their always being a feast yadda yadda.
The other NPC's openly comment on the fact that noone will forget you were the one to kill Harkon, you're the superior Vampire, you are the Lord of the Castle, etc.

So what were you saying about cut content?

Way to jump to conclusions. Go to the large ice lake in the vale.

Actually, Arkay (I assume)DOES speak to Florentius, mostly because Florentius is a Priest of Arkay.

The forts DO upgrade. I haven't done the dawnguard side yet bu I heard that upgrades. On the vampire side, you can tell the one guy to open up a passage from the main castle area out to eh courtyard where the moondial is. Haven't explored alot around the castle but I read on another thread that after the MQ is over you can go back to the soul cairn and serana's mom (can't remember her name) will come back to the castle and provide further upgrades.

No she doesnt, She only adds 8 plants to the garden that never respawn unless you stay away from the castle for 30 days. I allready mentioned fixing a door upgrade. Thats all the upgrades. 2.

Ah Sage, your constant bitterness and pessimism about Dawnguard in multiple threads would be nauseating if you weren't so adorable.

I went to my game store in town today and even the game sellers didnt like dawnguard. They said "usally when bethesda makes dlc they give you huge land to explore, I feel like im just playing dawnguard for the sake of it." I swear to god this is true and hes a casuel gamer. If they dont like the dlc god help their sales.

Dude, you've been complaining about the dlc since yesterday, but its obvious you either haven't completed it, or rushed through. You must've been playing blindfolded if you missed that huge lake with the twin dragons.

Does anyone have any information relevant to the poster's topic, or is this thread just gonna turn into a spam filled [censored]-fest which ends up locked?

I ran past them. I play mages with the apprentice stone = bad for fighting dragons.

You're really grasping for straws if you're trying to argue that you can upgrade the two Castles in Dawnguard.

While I agree with the other problems he pointed out, I have to agree that the diving dragon was pretty hard to miss....
