I didn't feel sorry at all. (DB)

I farted in the Night Mother's coffin

Nothing like a good air freshener to neutralise the odour of rotting corpse.

The only thing that upset me about the DB was that they have fallen so far away from what they used to be and you don't really get a chance to fix it. They don't abide by the 5 tenants anymore, and Cicero is the only one that believes in them. Sure, you get to be the listener and do the Night Mother's bidding, but the rest of the DB still goes off killing people without her blessing.

I just killed them off in my second playthough because they're barely a shadow of their former selves.

But if you play through the whole Quest line, then when you take over at the end, it is heavily hinted that you were chosen as Listener to not only rebuild the Brotherhood in Tamriel, but to also return it to the Old Ways. The Night Mother is speaking again, Sithis will be regularly getting Souls again (as is his due. Hail Sithis, Hail the Dread Father! ;)), and your character and Cicero are going to be schooling and rebuilding (with help from Nazir) based upon the Old Ways and the Five Tenets.

The Dark Brotherhood will be back and better than ever, that's pretty much a guarantee.

BTW; if you need a Sneaky follower who is also good at ranged and close combat, go with one of the DB recruits once you open up the Dawnstar Sanctuary. Those little bastards are amazing! And then iof you get them to close to your level with the Wabbajack... nothing will ever stand against you again. ;)

I don't feel bad about my contracts, because every one of them deserved death. How do I know? Simple; the person performing the Black Sacrament felt they deserved it. Ritualistically desecrating a corpse like that isn't something the average person would do on a whim. They'd have to have a very good reason. And really, It's not up to me to judge that reason. The contract was paid; that's all I need to know.

I felt bad about killing Naarfi, after finding out what happened to his sister and all. It seemed rather pointless. Then again, on some ways he was already dead and giving him the axe was more out of pitty than spite.
I do have to wonder- what did Narfi do to make someone want him dead so badly that they'd send a professional assassin after him? As I said, it's not up to me to judge- but talk about overkill...

I don't think that they'll really ever return to the 5 tenants. Even after the Night Mother returns, you continue to get assassination quests from the other members. Don't those fools know that only the Night Mother can give out DB assassinations and that only the Listener can hear her calls?

I didn't feel sorry at all when I went to their sanctuary and killed all of the DB members. They were just a bunch of morons that ran around killing whoever they pleased without following the 5 tenants from the old days. They didn't deserve to be allowed to live.

On a side note, I really wish that you could work with Cicero to somehow eliminate the current DB members (except for him) and form a new DB with members that follow the 5 tenants. I found t pretty ridiculous how even after the Night Mother returns, you're still getting assassination quests from the other members who can't even speak to the Night Mother! Don't these fools know that only the Night Mother can give out DB assassinations and only the Listener can hear her calls?

That's only if you didn't complete all those quests before "To Kill an Empire" if I remember right. And I think that's mostly because the contracts had already been agreed to, and just not carried out yet. It'd be better for the Brotherhood in the long run to fulfill those contracts and get the word out that they're back as a serious organization rather than alienate potential clients.

They continue to give you new assassination quests even after you've moved to Dawnstar and even after you've finished the main DB questline.
It's better for the brotherhood to not follow the 5 tenants that made them successful in the first place? I don't think so. They were founded around their belief of the Night Mother. To just go around and kill people without her blessing is blasphemy.

Who are you talking about exactly? After I got to Dawnstar, all of my contracts came from the Night Mother.

The black guy. I can't remember his name off the top of my head, but he continued to give me assassinations for quite a while after I had already finished the DB questline.

That's Nazir, and he only does that because you didn't get all of his quests done before hand. Now, Bethesda COULD have made it where those contracts were nullified after the DB's questline wraps up, but that would irritate a lot of people because they didn't realize that they had to do those quests as soon as they got them or else they wouldn't be able to.

I suppose I'm in the minority on this one, I can't stand the Brotherhood. Never did understand why they're such a popular faction. If I feel like killing someone I don't need permission from my mother to do it. :meh:
