I didn't feel sorry at all. (DB)

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 1:12 am

I'm going to be honest on this one. From ruining wedding days to killing older women, I didn't feel sorry or guilty for a second.
I had my reasons to join the Dark Brotherhood. I knew their rules. I wouldn't even hesitate if they told me to assassinate a friend.

How about you guys? Am I the only cold hearted killer here?

If there's anything Nocturnal taught me that carried over to the Dark Brotherhood, it's that Business is Business. By joining with them, you've signed an unwritten contract (do ho ho). I plan to keep within the bounds of that contract, so I really have no guilt over the matter.

Like I said, business is business. And in Skyrim, business is a' boomin.

It's like being a hitwoman for the mob, CIA, KGB, whatever. Nothing personal. Just business.

Astrid turned it into an abomination with no code.

If Mede II had performed the Black Sacrament and Sonja had received instructions from the Night Mother to kill Motierre afterward, then that would have been a different story for Mede II, but alas his request went unanswered. Thinking he could buy off the listener.... bah!

Money is money, and if I'm told to kill someone, I'll do it. Still, I had my doubts about killing a beggar, but if someone put a hit on him, then he must have done something wrong.

I gutted Astrid before she even finished introducing herself. You get pretty good quest line either way, and I had more than enough to keep my busy without her smug voice telling me what to do.

This is the first I have read that destroying the DB quest is at least pretty good. I have been holding off sleeping for awhile now because I don't want to be in the DB, but I have reservations about canceling what I've been reading are some of the best queslines in the game wih the DB. I really do not want to be a random killer, Grelod deserved it. I'd really like to sleep again... You are giving me hope, do tell me more!

Well.... to me, killing ALL the remaining DB members in the sanctuary is a better reward than a questline that would make me regret going there. That's just me. Others will likely be the opposite.

I am a killer....I just don't like the idea of my good charater being so villianous. So I might make a second thing just to be a hard-core criminal. lol. But I do enjoy going on a killing spree from time to time. I've got my momments. I killed the carriage man in whiterun without getting caught. So I threw him in the back of the wagon and made his horse a unicorn. Then everyone got mad at me for making the horse a unicorn.

No, you are not. I noticed a new random comment added to some of the people (guards I think) as listener where they say they heard the Dark Brotherhood is back on the rise and... Well, they kinda trail off in fear after saying it, knowing who they speak with makes them hesitant, as well they should be. I also kind of find it funny that the Thieve's Guild sort of knows I'm also in the Dark Brotherhood and isn't sure how to feel about that. Delvin says something when you upgrade the Dawnstar sanctuary like good luck with your...murders. Worse, I'm truly a cold-blooded killer. And vampirism doesn't even totally screw up your face like it did in Oblivion.

What other sanctuaries?, Astrid's clan represents the last of the dark brotherhood in Tamriel. Once they're wiped out all the only survivors are Cierco who doesn't arrive until later in the DB questline and Babette who isn't present if you attack the sanctuary. I doubt an insane jester and a three century year old vampire with the body of a ten year old are up to rebuilding the brotherhood from the Dawnstar Sanctuary.

I would be surprised, assuming one destroys the dark brotherhood what can the two survivors do. Babette would have no idea Cierco even exists so once she returns and finds everyone in the sanctuary dead there would be no reason for her to stick around. The Jester isn't likely to leave the safety of Dawnstar Sanctury once he learns Astrid's family has been wiped out, he'd stay and protect the nightmother.

The fate of the DB rests in the hands of the dragonborn.

He doesn't. It sounds like you haven't even done the quest. Nazir and Babette meet up and take the night mother to the Dawnstar Sanctuary. If you let Cicero live, he never leaves Dawnstar sanctuary. It's one of the faction quests in Skyrim that makes sense.

Edit: also Cicero happens to be on his way to Falkreath Sanctuary already.

But you rebuild it with barely much more than that. What it really relies on is the Night Mother. If we assume that she doesn't talk to anyone else, if the Dragonborn slays the DB, then yes..they are pretty much done. If she chooses someon else.... it's very possible they could rebuild.

Sounds like your not paying attention or you haven't done the other quest. I'm talking about what happens if you decided to kill Astrid when she abducts you and destroy the dark brotherhood. Nazir is dead killed along side everyone else in the sanctuary at the hands of the Dragonborn. The only survivors are Babette(who wasn't present) and Cicero who never even arrived. Originally when Cicero came to skyrim he hid at the Dawnstar Sanctuary only later deciding to move to the Falkreach Sanctuary to teach Astrid the error of her ways.

But you rebuild it with barely much more than that.
We do it with a lot more than that, first we have Nazir and more importantly killing Titus Mede II proves the Dark Brotherhood is back and powerful again.

What it really relies on is the Night Mother. If we assume that she doesn't talk to anyone else, if the Dragonborn slays the DB, then yes..they are pretty much done. If she chooses someon else.... it's very possible they could rebuild.
And how long will that take? eventually people will stop doing the Black Sacrament as no one answers.
