does anyone actually like the hide, studded or scaled armors

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 2:20 pm

mithril would have been cool tool.

I personally would love to see dlc that was mainly just adding tons of new weapons/armors. There is so much that was left undone

I think we can expect the DLCs to add lots of new materials, AND offer new quests and stories.

I don't mind them per say but the helmet for scaled armour is awful. Hide looks better on women characters also.

That helm IS awful. They just took the hide helm and stuck little horns on it. Yuck! My character is a nord archer type and I prefer light armor. I leveled my smithing so I could improve the more nordic style armors and I can't stand the helms. I really like how the elven armor looks but it doesn't feel right for my nord.

I like the look of scaled on both males and females. My first character wore it from the time I found a set through level 50 (upgraded substantially).
I agree the helm leave a lot to be desired- especially because it makes characters clearly bald underneath! I hope a modder can fix that- the iron helm doesn't have that problem.

I think leather looks cool for a "warrior's" light armor and I like imperial and the most covering version of the http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/214/northernlight.jpg/ on females (yeah, I said most covering).
Glass just looks ridiculous.
I understand why Nightengale is popular, but I never cared for it. My stealth character stuck with TG the whole way.

I think my Orc looks great in Hide armor. Well, it's not really armor, but than again he doesn't really care anyway. Orcs don't need armor.

I think that Elven armor is the only good looking light armor.

I love that helm... along with the scaled HORN armor. The scaled helm fits also well with fur or hide armor.

main problem is that in the vanilla version of skyrim there is little choice between armour , sure with hide and fur armour you have several different out fits but if you go higher up only steel armour has 2 different versions
Add the fact that in vanilla you need to wear a helmet to get the perks bonus and that most helmets are beeehh in my opinion , didn't really help much, Beth really missed a golden opportunity here
yeah i do feel sorry for all those console users out there

Do i use hide , fur and scale , yes i do , purely out of http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/576699902956514309/E12507CA37E22FDF6E0E558CB4DC6689A9D2D2BE/

I really think the leather armour looks good, I like how a lot of the gear looks more realistic this time around.

Hide - No, absolutely hideous. Provides absolutely no believable armor value, just like all the redundant "half-naked woman" armors all the modders seem to be so fond of.

Do i detect a hint of jealousy
most of us are guys and most of us prefer looking at something pretty even if they are only pixels

Definitely think the leather armor downgraded from oblivion. I like the scaled armor tho.

I think studded and scaled look great, if only they didn't clip with my damn leg.

Jealousy isn't a factor, due to the fact that I've seen lots of great modded armor that didn't require the PC to run around half-naked.

Believability is the biggest factor. There are lots of terrible half-naked male armors, too. I probably should have added that in.

(Thanks for noticing my signature, though. ;) )

I prefer the studded, Scaled, and Hide/fur armors, although I rarely wear a helmet, since the helmets do look a little funky. I was disappointed in the leather armor.

I've been loving Wolf armor lately. I love it when guards say "You wear the garb of a true Nord." But not so much when they go, "Is that...fur coming out of your ears?" I went through a phase when I really liked Elven armor, but not so much any more. Glass and Elven armor look terrible on a bulky male character.

The only helmet that looks good to my eyes is the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Ancient_Nord_Helmet. All the others rate from ridiculous to ugly.

I agree to most. As much as I absolutely love the game I have to totally agree that many if not the majority "rate from ridiculous to ugly". The other really good helmet is the the Nord Guard armor helmet

http://images.wikia.com/elderscrolls/images/6/6b/Solitude_Guard.jpg

That along with the ancient Nord armor are def' the best in the game. Shame their stats aren't much higher.

I like hide and studded, but I'd love to see chainmail and ringmail. I can't imagine why they dropped chainmail.

Yh. Its seems there are many shouting out for more Nordic mail armor types and why they weren't featured... Listen up Beth'.

That and the Nordic trollbone has come up a few times.

The forsworn helm (both genders) looks pretty cool and I'm sure you can also just smith it up to the cap even without the "matching set" perk

I can only accept those "armors" on my Conan-char. He does mix it with fur body armor, though. That said, it's fun.
