does anyone actually like the hide, studded or scaled armors

With regards to the local Nord armors of Skyrim

For me personally I think the Nord ancient armors look great (as it seems many people think as I've seen many posts mentioning this and I've noticed many still wear the armor even though it is lower level).

The Nord iron & steel armors to me look good. Wolf armor looks great as does the dragon Plate (except the helmet which just doesn't go)

The guard armors and the Stormcloak armors look great.

The armors such as Steel plate & Ebony which we've seen in previous TES games across Tamriel and I'm guessing is more of an Imperial design (Imperial Steel plate in previous games and ebony mining and trade controlled East Empire Company) both also look fantastic.

Is it just me or did they seriously not do justice with the three mentioned in the title. There is so much potential, armor they could have made being a Norse / Viking mythological inspired realm. Where is the Nordic chain mail and ring mail, they were so famous for in revious TES games?? What about trollbone armor?

I heartily agree they needed mail and trollbone, but I love how those three look. Granted hide is a little gimpish on males.

I love Hide armor. My 2-Hand warrior wears his Hide Armor at level 46.

I agree with you, especially your last point.

A warrior was my first character and i thought the iron and steel armours looked excellent. The problem i had was the higher level armours - dwarven etc just made me look like a prat and just looked out of place.I was really hoping to see some heavy chain or half plate which would keep me looking like a warrior. In the end i just went for banded iron with an iron helmet.

I don't mind them per say but the helmet for scaled armour is awful. Hide looks better on women characters also.

Agreed, I much prefer to wear light armor, but everything looks so bad. Leather looks awful, mainly because of the helmet. Same thing with scale armor, the helmet is just butt ugly, not to mention the much nicer version, the scale horn armor I am not allowed to smith nor make it better....

Everything else looks too fantastic for me, I like my warrior to look a bit realist.

I like the guards armor. If only I didn't have to wear fur boot and gloves...... :sigh:

I like them (except the Scaled Helmet). I would've liked more variety though, especially Nordic Trollbone.

Iron armor is the best looking armor, too bad my warrior is wearing light armor. I was hoping to have good looking light armor in higher level but nope, iron armor still the best looking armor. Luckily I find a lore friendly armor mod, a mercenary armor which combine iron armor and thief guild armor and it is light armor that perfectly my taste. Otherwise I will endup like in Oblivion where I will drop the game after everyone is running in ebony armor.

My main character is using the Scaled Horn Armour, the one in my signature. It looks a lot better than the Scaled Armour. His next outfit will probably be the dragon scales set.

also wanted to throw in the fur armor, u knwo the one thats shirtless..seriously. I like the scale especially, the one that has the animal on it. The only thing i dont like is said armor's helms. I know they "fit" and look right with the armor, but i just dont like how they look.

Where are these armor sets? That is what I am wondering. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Nordic_Fur_Armor#Armor
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Bloodmoon:Armor

They really dropped the ball for some really cool unique armors.

Nordic Mail in particular looks like it would have been very cool in Skyrim and Ice armor made from Stahlrim would probably look amazing as well in Skyrim.

I like Studded and Scaled but not Scaled Horn. Hide Armor is a huge letdown. The rest of the armors look ok although Elven doesn't look the best. I probably like Glass and Forsworn armor the most.

I like these armors, particularly scaled, it just seems to fit the Khajiit better than other light armors. What I hate is the fact that in the menu, elven and glass helmets clearly have a backside to them, but when they are put on, not only is there no back, J'derras' glorious mane disappears. This is why I like the scaled helmet, it doesn't get rid of J'derras' mane.

I like the look of all three that you mentioned. It’s the glass that I don’t care for.

I wish there was Nordic Mail in Skyrim. I do like the three armors you mentioned though, especially the last two.

I think they did a better job on heavy armor.. for the exception of dwarven... which looks good but.. out of place.

Well, then don't wear the helmets. :P It's only a head injury!

Ahem. I really like the look of the scaled armor, myself, especially on female characters. My character was using it until I switched to a mod chainmail/ranger type armor that I decided I liked better. Before the scaled I was stuck with Elven and really didn't like the look of it. Too shiny and bulky.

My companion is using the scaled, too. He's a Nord (Erik the Slayer), so it definitely suits him much better than something like the Elven sets. I tried getting him to wear some enchanted Elven armor once. He just looked ridiculous in it.

Never really looked at heavy armors. I'm light armor all the way in all the TES games, it seems like. :P

Just my opinion, but apart from dragonscale, forsworn and orcish, I think all the helmets svck. The armours themselves, they look fine to me.

The only helmet that looks good to my eyes is the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Ancient_Nord_Helmet. All the others rate from ridiculous to ugly. ;)

I like the Fur, forsworn, hide, scaled and studded. I really don't like the higher lvl light armor's. Glass and Eleven just don't look like light armor to me... medium maybe.

All the hold armor's are pretty cool, really just a color shift.

I like all the heavy armor's. I never seem to get past steel plate though. That's my favorite heavy armor ( aside from the Blades armor )

Most of my char's have been light armor, but I still outfit and improve my companion's in their heavy armor's.

I DO wish they had put in a mail armor of some kind... and maybe a "ranger" type light armor.

Also more nordic armors and clothes D: am i the only one that wants more pelt armors and clothes? remember the cosy robes of solstheim? I want fur cloaks/capes too. Hope they add more stuff like that in a expansion, well we say hope they add that blabla to everything now but. we can always hope.

And i want this in skyrim http://images.uesp.net/d/d3/BM-npc-SkaalHonorGuard.jpg

Also i dont like the dragonplate armor,Just the helmet of it.I think the light armor version looks better (Dragonscale armor)
