They look a bit stiff compared to the awesome horses in Red Dead Redemption.

The horses in Skyrim are Shire horses. Biggest horse breed in the world, built for Skyrim's geography and weather. RDR is just a normal mid-size horse breed.

I prefer Skyrim honestly. Beautiful creatures.

I think they look fine, in fact they remind me of a certain horse that i can remember riding in one of my favorite game series. ;D
Now if i could just get an ocarina to summon it, please bethesda make it happen!

Red Dead was a western...aka warm weather. We're in the frozen north here...red deads horses would be dead.

Blame Rockstar for not sharing their horse animation research with Bethesda. These things take lots of time.

He was just mentioning that Red Dead's horses looked better... It doesnt mean that he wont play Skyrim.

Red Dead's horses looked very good indeed, but im happy about the horses in Skyrim. Not going to use them that much anyways though.

lol ya sry bout that but threads like this get tiresome. exactly what is anyone supposed to do about the fact the OP doesn't like the look of the horses? discuss? too many threads complaining. if it's a game killer don't play. if not, ignore it and enjoy the rest of the game (if on pc hoping that down the road someone creates a mod to fix the thing you don't like).

Well, Red Dead prided itself on the horses in that game. This game doesn't make the horse a spotlight attraction. Not to say they are not good enough, but of course they will not be as good as the Red Dead horses.

The horses I've seen so far looks NOTHING like Icelandic horses.
They look like draft horses, e.g. Clydesdales.

I'm personally hoping for a breed that looks like Norwegian fjord horses.

one reason might be that they are not fast american stallions lol, they are huge medievil war horses, or as they are commonly known now, shire horses (shire ha, how ironic)

If you listen to the developer diary #3 podcast, they explain they didn't want the horses to look like Red Dead Redemption. The horses in skyrim are based off of real horse breeds like the clydesdale, and were meant to be "stockier" to fit with the lore and geography. A Red Dead Redemption horse wouldn't last three minutes on top of the Throat of the World.

Horses where a major part of gameplay in Red Dead Redemption. Skyrim, they're just a way to get around the world.
