Dragonborn beta

Also, betas are for bug testing, stop holding them up some early access to a perfect copy of the DLC.

Yes, a few changes to the content occurs during the Beta's, so they are not playing a ready for prime-time content. Personally, I am not a huge fan of participating in Betas as I prefer the play the game first, then document the bugs and issues later.

They can't talk about the beta since they've signed an NDA. An NDA ensures that somebody doesn't go blabbering about how terribly buggy the beta (even though it's a beta) is, or how cool some feature is (if that feature is likely to be removed), or so forth. It's just so people don't scream at Bethesda for "false advertising" or something.

Also, betas are for bug testing, stop holding them up some early access to a perfect copy of the DLC.

Exactly the DG beta was extremely buggy when I was there. Its not really that we get the content early or anything what we get is a buggy product that isn't in the best of shape. Yeah beta testers get to see the content first but that's not really what is focused on (at least not for serious beta testers) we focus on what is wrong with the game/dlc THEN go back and enjoy the said content.

The favoritism is sickening Bethesda. [censored] sickening.

Ha. A huge majority of the problems are fixed internally. Beta's ARE early access.

Quit being so ignorant. Microsoft/XBox made a deal with Bethesda to get the content first. Just like Activision with CoD and other titles as well. PS3 had a deal with Ubisoft to get exclusive levels for AC3 so deal with it.

Again I state DG Beta was buggy as [censored] and almost unplayable at times.

Bethesda can't call for every issue that appears on every system. Betas are a way to distribute an early version of the game so they can gain knowledge of bugs they wouldn't have been able to find otherwise. Of course the bugs are fixed internally. They don't expect the users to access the code and send them fixes. That's nonsense. Stop making this what it isn't.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about and rambling on faith. The 1.8 beta was USELESS as NOTHING in the files of the patch were changed. Like at all. And barely anything was changed for 1.6 and 1.7. And Dawnguard had like what? Three bad bugs?

I realize they signed an NDA, but with the DG beta they could at least say they were in the beta. Why can't they do that with Dragonborn?

QQ more. This is how they've been doing it for awhile now. The past has shown that we players find things that they seemingly do not.

Lol please. The Dawnguard "beta" was an exact copy of the one that was launched on official release.

How many bugs reported from the Dawnguard "beta" were actually fixed? Yea, that's right.. none.

Real betas are for polishing the product before release. What Bethesda has done with Dawnguard is what they are going to do with Dragonborn. It's just early access.

Because even then there were some people who just couldn't help themselves.

An NDA usually states that you can't mention you are in said beta. I've signed at least two NDAs for two different things. I'm on the PC, so I've never signed a gamesas NDA, but I can almost guarantee it says the same thing. The Dawnguard NDA probably did as well.

Nah. Was just a matter of "when". This is a bit sooner than I expected, so that's cool.

Or, you could look at as they have figured out how to better patch this game and Beta Testing proved their concept. On some of the earlier patch beta's I was on, the patch changed daily. I would rather them have a beta where no changes are needed, than one where many changes are.

Humph. Not impressed. I hoped we wouldn't get a beta again. It did very little and seemed to be a marketing tool over anything else. It showed as much transparency as the PS3 fiasco. I take it that all the Americans who took part in the DG beta are doing it again. Not really much point trying to keep it a secret since half of them had 'Dawnguard Beta tester' in their sig and so everyone knows who they are.

Betas are good for finding those quirky bugs that can really mess up a game. Don't complain if you aren't in it or calling it early access. None of it counts for anything, testers need to redo everything anyways. I did close to a year of beta testing for SWTOR and thankfully I never used the class I intended to play as because I wanted it all to be a surprise. I would think most testers do the same thing, even for TES.

Now if they don't change a thing from the beta, then it really shouldn't be called a beta. Regardless, it's out there and nothing you can do about it, tester or not. So just relax a little on that front.

So it seems that Beth has already sent out all the emails they are going to send?

For now at least. You never know, they might do more rounds. For a SP game though, I doubt it.

Hey so I got the Email and did the query but I cant remember if I put the year in for the date of birth but it still accepted the query so maybe I did and I cant remember but does this mean you will be accepted for the beta or is it just possible choices of people?

Does this email mean we are getting into the Dragonborn beta or is it simply part of trying to get in?
