I'm sure that Bethesda, in all of their "honorable" glory would tell you.

Yeah, I just got one of these emails too. Considering I'm on the PS3, I doubt it's legit, so I'm leaving it be for now.

There's an admin here, maybe they can fill us in on the situation?

As I said in the other thread, they usually announce them before hand and open up for applications before they start sending emails out.

I'd suggest contact Gstaff or a mod and checking.

I got it too.

Doesn't work in Chrome, but it works in IE. Try it out.

And if it IS a scam, haven't you then potentially shot yourself in the foot?

Any particular reason as to why you guys at gamesas only do betas for xbox? Is it because it's harder to crack in the team's opinion, or is it for the same reason the DLC releases earlier on 360? If this is the case would it be possible for a closed PC beta after/around/during the 360 release so you can fix even more bugs specific to our platform?

Does community/account status affect the selection process?

EDIT: Well, I just checked and an e-mail about the beta on my e-mail for my old account, though not this one.

Shouldn't the PS3 be the platform getting the beta?

Lets just call it out for what it is, yet another early access lottery.

I was about to comment on this. Why release a Dragonborn beta for 360 when you should be releasing a Dawnguard beta for PS3? And why can't they say they're part of the beta? So PS3 players don't catch wind of it and rage?

The favoritism is sickening Bethesda. [censored] sickening.

Also, betas are for bug testing, stop holding them up some early access to a perfect copy of the DLC.

Ha. A huge majority of the problems are fixed internally. Beta's ARE early access.

They can't talk about the beta since they've signed an NDA. An NDA ensures that somebody doesn't go blabbering about how terribly buggy the beta (even though it's a beta) is, or how cool some feature is (if that feature is likely to be removed), or so forth. It's just so people don't scream at Bethesda for "false advertising" or something.

Also, betas are for bug testing, stop holding them up some early access to a perfect copy of the DLC.

1) You cannot begin a sentence with 'and.'

2) That is standard legal language dealing with any product in pre-release. Clothing companies, music labels, etc will all have a disclaimer saying that about any of their products being handed out to testers pre-release or before major distribution.

3) This is hidden by the lizards living in the moon, but you can see it because you are the chosen one. It is actually a reptile illuminati conspiracy against the PS3 and that was a sentence to cover it all up. You must unite the chosen relics! (etc etc)

Bethesda can't call for every issue that appears on every system. Betas are a way to distribute an early version of the game so they can gain knowledge of bugs they wouldn't have been able to find otherwise. Of course the bugs are fixed internally. They don't expect the users to access the code and send them fixes. That's nonsense. Stop making this what it isn't.
