Dragonborn DLC Exclusivity PS3 and PC Release Dates - Thread

Post » Tue Nov 06, 2012 4:00 am

15 contains 10.

there is 10 donuts there. there is also 5 more.

It is a fact that TEN donuts are at the meeting now. just because there is an extra 5, does not take away from the fact that 10 donuts are there.

Anyway, I have to call trolling at this point, because there's no way anyone is this dense.
15 does contain 10 but 15 in NOT 10! And seriously I think you are the one who is trolling.

No he didn't. He brought 15. 15 is not 10.

Its the same as if someone asked if you have 10 dollars. "If I say yea I do" but I also have another 23 dollars in my poket, am I lying? No.

Actually, It is listed as such in the description for the official trailer of Hearthfire: 'Hearthfire, the next official game add-on for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, will be available for download for 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE? on September 4.'
Well spotted. You are absolutely correct.

Can anyone tell me what Sony has to say on the matter of Skyrim and DLC? Have they tried working with Bethesda on the matter?

Best guess on my part, assuming it's not a timed exclusive for some reason, is that it's ready on the xbox and not done yet for pc/ps3. Rather than wait until it's ready, and have it come out too close to Christmas (or after) they're releasing it on the platform it's ready for, to get as much holiday $$ as they can

Slightly more complicated than that. It adds the functionality to display the DLC option for PS3. It depends what parameters the menu is sent from the game. So even after 1.8 hits the PS3, you may not see the DLC option in the menu.

Yes it did. Nobody is saying this DLC will be forever exclusive to the Xbox.

The PC version is the Xbox version. Put it up on a screen and you will not be able to tell the difference.

I don't think they've said anything. Bethesda said it was http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/news/a410763/skyrim-ps3-issues-not-sonys-fault-says-bethesda.html

Yes, but some naturally believe because they didnt mention the ps3 that it wont be when the xbox and the pc get it. I guess because if it was, you'd think they would say so since that is big news.

1. Nobody said when that patch would be available to the PS3. Remember, 1.06 (1.07) was significantly delayed, and it didnt' lead to DLC either.

2. Those were the files from the beta. No one has since, that I've seen, looked into it with the official release patch.

Can't blame them for thinking that considering how they've been given [censored] treatment in the past.

Official release is the (second) beta release, they're no different.
Basically the betas aren't real betas. CBA to explain again.

I think the problem is that the "first two" DLC as exclusive information was provided without a qualifying statement. As such it was logically interpreted to be an exact statement regardless of how it was intended. Todd might have meant "at least two" but, unfortunately for him, he didn't say that. I think this will be an important lesson that one should be very careful to always use qualifiers if a number one is giving is not intended to be the absolute and exact value of something.

Yeah you are because you said you had 10 when you actually have 23. 10 is not 5. 20 is not 10. 30 is not 15. 40 is not 20. 50 is not 25. 60 is not 30. 70 is not 35. 80 is not 40. 90 is not 45. 100 is not 50. 3 is not 2.

No it's not...put xbox version in your PC and try and run it....or vice versa. They are close, but not identical

So at best, they're still on the level of word smiths that write fuzzy legal documentation which is near-synonymous with deceitful. These anologies would make most people laugh. Who talks this way in real life? It's shady!

If they truly didn't believe they'd have more than two DLC or have future contracts with Microsoft, they should've said nothing about it at all. A lack of communication would at least give something for people to aim their disgruntled feelings toward -- with the way it's handled currently, you don't know who or what is to blame unless you consider all parties involved. What does this achieve?

Whether the PS3 gets it or not is not down to exclusivity contracts. Assume for the sake of this thread that the PS3 will get it at the same time as the PC which will be 30 days later than the Xbox.

Never said I did, did I? It is unfortunate, but it is not like Beth did this to PS3 users on purpose, so I disagree with the "[censored] treatment" comment of yours.

Oh, and just so we can back this up with facts:
http://www.bethblog.com/2011/08/26/skyrim-roundup-vampires-dlc-news-quakecongamescom-and-more/
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/26/skyrim-dlc-packs-heading-to-xbox-360-first/

They said two. We've had two. Dragonborn would be the third.

Also, I'd just like to point out that since we live in the 21st century, DLC, add-ons, and expansions are the same thing.

I believe there's an assumption that business contracts never change. Perhaps the original contract did specify exclusivity to the first two DLCs -- though I'm not certain of that either because I never saw the contract. But if BGS decides to amend the contract to provide additional exclusivity to X-Box, then that's their perogative. It's all driven by profits -- and that's not a bad thing. Without profit we won't see future TES or Fallout games coming from BGS. For the time being there's nothing we can do about it so we might as well chill.

I hold no false belief to understand computer code, so I'll take your word for it. I guess I just reasoned that if they were prepairing the ps3, that meant they were near ready to start putting stuff there. If they can still hide it, well, nevermind then.

Yes it did. Nobody is saying this DLC will be forever exclusive to the Xbox.

Of course, I understood that part. I didn't understand that they could keep it hidden still, because if they couldn't hide it then it'd be odd/mean to add the dlc menu but keep it empty.
