Dragonborn Trailer!

Post » Tue Nov 06, 2012 9:49 am

Is there any like, added info along with the trailer?
I mean it's a bit disappointing to watch because it doesn't really tell us much. Past DLCs have come with descriptions of what the basic concept is or the overall size of the DLC. I'm sure that's coming, but for now without it I'm just kinda like "lol ok, well that was pretty I guess." :D

Doesnt look a bit like the Solsthiem I remember. The one in Morrowind was flatter and only had large mountains in the northern areas around Thirsk and Skaal Village. But, thats not necessarily a bad thing. Was just hoping it would look a little like it used too. Hopefully I can reclaim my place as Cheiftan of the Thirsk Meadhall once again.

We don't know what cities they were showing, but it does look different than the island did in Morrowind. I would expect more construction/expansion on the island after Red Mountain exploded as the survivors moved there.

more obsure things:

spears - both throwing and normal ones? ~1:00 - 1:07

...I'm really not seeing these. Are you counting the weapon the imp-creature is holding?

Also that weapon he's using to block looks more like a sword than a spear.

I think you might be seeing things you want to see, rather. :P

That was honestly the best trailer I've ever watched.

I'm blown away. This is unbelievable.

Well, that was cool. The music rocks.

edit: I can't tell if that little clip of Stahlrim armor is heavy or light.. Kind looks like Glass. I'm a mage but kind of want to spec in an armor now. Now to figure out which. :D

So did the 2 dlc exclusive to 360 end with Hearthfire, or is this one still part of that since Hearthfire was free for all?

That's only a confirmation that enemies can use them. That doesn't confirm that we can ise them just yet. at least for me.

Is there any other weapon in the game that NPCs can use but not players?

Everything that NPCS do, players can do as well. (besides the little animations like sitting against a wall or something but thats not game mechanics thats just aesthetic.)

i mean if they spent the time making animations for npcs to use spears, then they'll let players do it too.

i HIGHLY doubt that npcs would be able to use spears and not players. Im like 99% sure on that, so theres a 1% chance im wrong in this.

Did I see Ash Slaves?

I can understand Solstheim's radical change, especially if the Telvanni were in charge. They grew Tel Uvirith in an ashen wasteland, and I'm sure they could and would terraform their new home.

...
I guess we have riding Dragonmounts confirmed... but it's not certain if/where we can and how it works.
...
I'll bet there will be scripted dragon rides looking at the trailer. It doesn't indicate any freeriding around Skyrim.

Trailer looks good I will admit, but so did the trailer for Skyrim. I don't think it represents the bugs that will come with this DLC inevitably...We shall see, hopefully not another DLC in the knee(or to the knee as I like to say)...

Looks like an action packed visually stunning DLC with Expansion style workmanship. Definitely Fallout 3 DLC quality level. Congratulations Bethesda and thanks for the emotionally stirring trailer alive with a advertising ballet style grace :D

Looks good. Although my enthusiasm was deflated somewhat when I read the description implying it will be Xbox exclusive once again until next year.

Awesome trailer.

Anyone else notice the player character manipulating what looked like a glowing green book near the beginning? It looked like a crafting screen to me (similar to the over-the-shoulder 3rd person Smithing/Alchemy/Enchanting animations).

Spellbook-crafting, anyone?

You're talking about the scene where suddenly he gets matrix-like code around him that turn into plant tendrils after reading the book?

Nah - I think it's just a cinematic sequence of you unlocking something... like after reading the book the plant tendrils appear and pull you down/up into some new area.

The telvanni were all wizards, so maybe they will have some of the old spell effects and spellcrafting.
