Elfpunk can save the monotony of Skyrim.

Post » Fri Jul 27, 2012 10:52 am

Elfpunk
Elfpunk was proposed as a subgenre of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_fantasy in which http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faeries and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elves are transplanted from rural folklore into modern urban settings. During the awards ceremony for the 2007 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Book_Awards, judge Elizabeth Partridge expounded on the distinction between elfpunk and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_fantasy, citing fellow judge Scott Westerfeld's thoughts on the works of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holly_Black who is considered "classic elfpunk — there's enough creatures already, and she's using them. Urban fantasy, though, can have additionally made-up creatures."

Take us into the future of Skyrim.

No, no no. Modern+TES is bad. People who like Fallout call it... well, gamesas's Fallout.

TES has been, and always will be, a Medieval High-Fantasy/Adventuring series. If and when it moves from that formula, that's the death knell of the series.

These two subjects are polar opposites, and clash with each other.

If they went into a modern setting it would destroy the entire series. It should stay in the fantasy setting it's in now.

It's a future fantasy setting, what's wrong with evolving?

I can't even play the game without thinking about the greatness of Fallout.

I'm literally bored with skyrim. U guise are blind.

Yes, the Altmer have spaceships and all, but we don't need to change this series into something it never was. Please. If you want to play Fallout more, play that.

So you want to see Khajiits and Argonians with rocket launchers, wearing suits, driving motorcylces while listening to dubstep?

Sorry OP but this idea would lead to the downfall of the series and extreme fan backlash comparable to when Mass Effect 3 came out.

I've put a lot of hours into Fallout, I want something new. And since you vampire lovers have skyrim and it's new, I want them to push the series forward into the future.

A glimpse, a DLC that throws into an unlikely of futures. ELFPUNK is something I've never seen done before and Skyrim is the perfect place for it to find a home.

Just think how strong the skooma would be.

Are you really satisfied with the "roleplaying" and dungeon diving of skyrim??? The RPG aspects have been watered down.

It needs a breath of fresh air. Unless you people are used to living mundane pseudo-rpg lives.

Honestly think about it.

Skyrim in a 1000 years, you fantasy dwellers really think Tamriel won't evolve?

The high elves can be the major corporations with their science and magic.

The wood elves and dark elves would be the cyberpunks and hackers of the world.

Everyone else, well idk, make it up.

I have played many kinds of fantasy games and sci fi games. Mainly older ones, but still. If you want elfpunk in TES, fine. It just doesn't fit. At all. Nirn is a completely different universe. This has nothing to do with traditional stuff. This is just time and place.

The series will evolve, just not in ways you will like.

The elder scroll took us back in time, why can't it take us to the future?

You're not in the least bit curious how the World would look with higher technology and a NEO-RIFTEN?

That doesn't intrigue you even a little bit?

It is interesting, but I don't want to see it outside of mods. Besides, the Dwemer already got some of that high tech stuff.

Certainly a better idea than the vampires and werewolves plan A for these guys.

I haven't even heard of Elfpunk until recently, I connected the dots and said hey I know a game with elves.

So I came here to spread the seed.

Ok, so what if the high elves figure out their technology. Then they add their twist and then suddenly technological singularity.

In a world of magic, they would reach artificial intelligence a lot faster than we will.
