Endings are uneven.

I'm a bit dissapointed- I would think that Independent Vegas would be at least as good as the NCR option (provided that the Courier had good karma.)

Just read through the endings on The Vault- looks like I'll be going NCR since it's the only way to help the most amount of people in the Mojove. Man, at this rate I'll never get done with New Vegas!

Indie Vegas is what it is; anarchy.

This is Fallout, so no sugar coating it just so you can feel better about yourself.

I'm pretty happy with the Caesar's Legion endings myself (A shame about The Kings).

Well, exactly, but those who accept Legion would live full lives as citizens. ;)

By the way, has anyone noitced the the NCR flag has a star and a bear? Very Russian for a very anti-commie world.

That's because they took the http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_California.svg, gave the bear a second head and added "New" next to "California."

I could explain the history of my state's flag, but I don't want to bore anyone who doesn't care about the origins of a flag from the 1840's.

True you do lose Karma. "Karma can only be portioned out by the cosmos." If you do bad things bad things will happen to you, good things good things happen. You may not think its bad but the cosmos does. :grad:

Karma is obsolete anyways. It was in Fallout and it also acts as a reputation system for the settlements. Since then Reputation system as replaced it. FO3 Karma did not work as well as it did in Fallout.

Yeah I strongly disliked how obsolete karma was in this game. I don't see a point to having it at all. You can be a super badass and the Followers (or any org that is "good") still love you, wtf?

Well, we hear that most women are enslaved, but I wonder if civilian women become slaves as well.

Fixed. You can be a evil person but if they catch you then they turn on you. With my female character, I really enjoy killing men of the NCR in their sleep. Stealing from NCR and the Legion, playing bothsides against one another without gettting caught. Having killed many men in their sleep and the NCR being none the wizer. Bad karma but a good rep

Well since Caesar is emulating Rome, all women in his dream society are slaves to men for all intents and purposes, even if they aren't explicitly called such.

Indy ending is not anarchy if you have the full Securitron army available. With those reinforcements, there are enough Securitrons to ensure a proper quelling of disorder.

First of all, there's a whole slew of ending slides who's endings are not or only trivially touched by the winning faction. The outcome of all slides are based mostly on particular quests that involve that faction/person/place and secondary on who wins the war.
I found that each group has endings that are better or worse for one group than the other. I really didn't think the NCR is the best way to go.

Independent Vegas is represented that way for several reasons.
1) Without implementing quests that dictated how you rule the Mojave/Strip it becomes impossible to make a satisfactory representation of what you as leader do. Most of the changes you can make happen after the war.
2) The NCR withdraw and without the harsh legion law moving in it's stands to reason that raiders and highwaymen would get more free reign. It's unlikely you as leader can just role those securitrons over the wasteland and create order. It doesn't actually delve into whether this is a permanent thing. The slide don't all take the same time-frame in mind and vary from short term to long term changes.
3) At the end you hold the Strip and the Dam, the other places still belong to other people and you'd either have to take over forcefully or diplomatically before you get a say in that place.

What you say is simply not true.
I have examined the endings, including sides. And as I said, the really good ones are only available after you win Hoover dam for the NCR.

For example, with one of the NCR endings the Khans leave peacfully and found a great nation where they can live in peace.
With every other ending they are either destroyed or disbanned.

NCR can help the followers establish a thriving medical center in freeside, the yes-man can only burden them with casulatys.

The Boomers are xenophobic isolationists, only NCR trades with them and helps them come out of their shell.

And the same goes for many factions and factors of the game.
The one and only negative thing about their ending is the high taxes whitch is minor compared to the rest.

I'm not asking them to make it a lollypop land but this is suppoused to be a game about choice and it's clear to me that NCR is by far the best and only choice.

But I think we can all agree that Fallout: new vegas needs more casino games.

First, I want to mention a couple things. The Great Khans can get a good ending with the NCR or with Yes Man. However, if you convince the Khans to help the NCR, they get a negative ending, so I consider that a wash at best. The Boomers get a good ending (where they trade) with either the NCR or with House. The Brotherhood gets good endings with Yes Man or NCR. Goodsprings' only truly positive endings comes from Yes Man. The Kings have positive endings with House, NCR, and Yes Man. All the other endings are more or less independent of who wins at the Hoover Dam (the exception being a Legion victory, for obvious reasons).

Overall, the NCR is the least damaging, this is true. But, this makes a good deal of sense and should be obvious to anyone playing through the game. The NCR exists throughout the Mojave. They have soldiers, citizens, and merchants from Primm all the way to Bitter Springs. In everything but name, they controlled the Mojave.

And yet, the ending isn't that positive. The inept General Oliver and the warhawk President Kimball become the heroes of the Hoover Dam battle. They wasted blood and treasure trying to take the Mojave and would have lost but for the actions of a lone Courier. At the end of the game, the NCR is free to walk into the next "Mojave" and this time there may not be a lone hero to save the day.

Khans get a good ending with House too. Goodsprings got a good ending with House; they stayed as they were and House sent Victor back to look out for them. The residents were mixed on his presence as they were in the game. Followers got a good ending with House. Primm got a good ending with House, but I think that had more to do with who was made sheriff. Novac got a good ending, but probably because of Come Fly With Me. Only bad ending was BoS...and that is only if you are a BoS really devoted fan. I'm not.

Even some of the Powder Gangers got a good ending; joining with the Khans.

What are you talking about?

Th only yes-man-Khan ending is where their tribe is destroyed and it's lving members scattered to the winds.
