ESO just announced on PS4......

Post » Tue Jun 11, 2013 3:04 pm

getting special beta access is what pisses em off

the rest im meh on - if we we got a shared community and megaserver of pc gamers and ps4 gamers the community would be awesome -

itd make subscription impossible and buy to play their model-

and im curious about HOW they can port a game with 6 hot keyes a left click attack, a right click block, a sprint, interact and a speak to the controller scheme

Or they wanted to keep it as a big announcement. When you are trying to keep something secret, you have to lie it is that simple.

The game is already setup to have simple controls with the limited hot bar and similar combat to skyrim. If you could see it eventually going to console, you have been blind to the design of the game.

All versions (PC, PS4, and Xbox One) will ship within the same timeframe. As we get closer to launch, we will provide more details.

Pros: potentially more money for Zenimax

Cons: More divided player base

Possible launch pushback for PC version too

having to patch/fix issues on two different set ups

maintaining twice the amount of servers, assuming US PC megaserver, US PS4 server, etc etc

WHATEVER THE [censored] 'PS4 gets *beta*' first means...

Just a friendly reminder folks. Please remember our rules about platform bashing/flaming before posting.

and there you have it folks... Launch frame: spring 2014...

Would have made 2013 I bet without having to port to consoles... -_-

Now there will be people on Xbox One, PS4, and PC separately...

You have divided your playerbase, and will now have to patch/hotfix for THREE [censored] platforms...

Well, you jerks still have my money... -sigh-... I will buy whatever the largest and fanciest edition i can get my hands on, and play till servers die one day (hopefully way down the line... or never...) I can't say no to an Elder Scrolls MMO....

So not only is ESO coming to consoles, its release date is being pushed back (likely because of the console version), man this is a bad ending to a good day.

They better make a separate megaserver for PS4 players then. I don't want my bug fixes and little tiny patches like that [censored] over by console players because Sony wants to take their sweet ass time approving the patch before the release it to console players. If they have us share the same server we are going to have major issues with console players either being patches behind PC players or PC players having to play incredibly buggy patches while we wait for Sony to approve the patches for their console players.

Both the Xbox One and PS4 seem to be more open when it comes to developers adding content. Both Xbox One and PS4 use the same x86 architecture as the pc making it much easier to develop patches and even the game side by side with all the platforms. It is entirely possible that the servers will be cross platform like FFXIV is doing. According to the twitter that was posted, it is already pushed back to spring 2014.

Agreed... I hope they answer on this...

PC shouldn't be held back for PS4's long approval times....

Blind? They said multiple times it would not come on the console. This seems quite sudden and I'm more worried for the game now that they are goign to cater to console players. I sure as [censored] hope they are going to seperate PC and CONSOLE players because these two markets don't mix too well but I doubt they will - I should have known they where hiding something with the incredible minimalistic UI and action oriented combat with the least possible abilities to press.

The release date is determined by the time we need to make the best game possible, regardless of platform.

There was never a release date. It was roughly 2013. Just like with nearly any mmo push backs are expected. In fact a recent interview flat out said that it will release when it is ready and just left it at that.

Does the PS4 or Xbox One will be sold with a keyboard by default? Because if not for console users then communicating with the rest of the player community gonna be "fun"

I'm quite sure gamers can play with gamers and be mature about it. Multi-platform is the way of the future for games and most especially with the new generation of consoles that are coming out.

Now, I have deleted a couple of posts bashing folks who use a platform different than their own. That isn't tolerated here.

Will PS4 and XBox players be able to play with PC players?

They are gonna get decimated in PvP if so...

We are talking about an MMORPG here, and the last time I checked ESO was suppose to me an MMO.
