Explain to me how this makes sense

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 3:05 pm

Now wait a minute. The fire from your fingertips things -does- bother me, it's basically just an obvious indicator for which spell you have equipped (which is silly) and I don't like pausing in combat to change things, either. However, fast travelling makes sense, as it's just skipping things that actually happen, (time passes) and the dragons are technically shouting fire, etc.

Just saying.

LOL...ok ok. I'll buy that.

p.s. The OP is correct. Something is wrong and should be fixed.

To quote a friend of mine:
[11:37] AFriendOfMine: How dare you question light physics in a world where you can SET PEOPLE ON FIRE WITH YOUR MIND.

To quote a friend of mine:

That's kind of like saying I can crush walnuts with my mind, because my mind directed my arm to squeeze the nut until it cracked. It's indirect at best, since magic does not exist within the individual, the individual can be extinguished and others do not suffer any lapse of the magic conduit.. I think.

Have no fear, your forum astrophysisist is here! Well, ok... So I teach freshman physics in high school and have a degree in astrophysics, but close enough right?

The moons in that screenshot do not make sense, as noted before. I was going to correct many of the misconceptions thrown about in this thread, but it seems that has already been done.

I DO, however, want to highlight that Physics is not exactly the easiest of subjects to understand. I'm not sure why there seemed to be so much animosity in this thread. For many people, the last time they did anything in Physics was back in 8th grade.

Chill out and help people understand, instead of just telling them how stupid they are when they don't. If they are persistent in thier misconceptions, that just means they need more examples and counter examples.

Cheers.

Edit: cell phone typos.

Thank you. I didnt notice it because of physics though. I noticed it because the moons didn't look like they were in any sort of harmony.

Arguing over magic is pointless.

If gods want to light it differently, you cannot question that. :whistling:

Well the physics in the TES are different from our own. They are not in the same universe after all. Theirs was created by divine entities, the same reason why they don't have evolution and stuff.

There are two possible answers...

1. Light works differently in the Elderscrolls universe, which is the BS answer.

2. Beth screwed up a small detail that 99% of us did not notice either until it was pointed out.

There is no third answer through which the lighting pattern observed could be created by normal means.
