Favorite Disney Villian?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 5:23 pm

Gothel. I hope to be such a good mother one day. Besides that Scar.

EDIT: OMG HOW COULD I FORGET CAPTAIN HOOK! He is hands down my favorite. So flamboyant. This gay pirate fighting with a little boy? There is no better character.

Hades, Frollo, Scar, Jafar... Hard to pick one.

Which reminds me, I need to watch all of those again.

Disney- Either Shan Yu or Scar

Dreamworks- Tzekel-Kan
Probably this, but I haven't seen the newest Disney movies, and I love just about all the villains in disney movies, I jsut think that they're all great.

Hmm

I would probably have to say Hades cause of how James Woods did his voice with him plus his actions. Instead of being stuck up he's maniacal with a twisted dark sense of humor befitting a "god of the underworld" type. Captain James Hook is probably the oldschool kind of cool, but his obsession with a little kid....ya something's very WRONG there.

Scar.

I wonder what he was called before he got the scar.
Bob the Lion

I like, Cruela and the hunter from Tarzan partly because of the settings their in. the hunter (Forgot his name) is an exxagerated early 1900s Poacher/explorer that just vividly protrays the darker edge of a Hemmingway-esque character, or at least that's what I thought when Iwas a kid.

Cruela because I like movies set in the 1930s, her character is well-done and the animation is good.

Ja'far is another villian I like since you can't go wrong with the Evil Vizier archetype.

I don't know what my opinion of all these guys would be now since I've not seen any proper disney movies since 2002. I'm not a big fan of Disney, but those come to mind when I think of viilians.

oh and Frollo is decent I suppose. I actually HATE the Hunchback of Notre-dam, as a person with several physical disabilities it's always very irritating when people compare me to Quasi-Moto. That's not cute, it's not endearing, it's insulting. That spineless bastard is the last thing I ever want to be associated with.
Meanwhile as a Catholic I can't help but feel like the movie is sort of taking advantage of the bad rap catholicism had at the time the movie was being made. I'm not a religious nut, far far from it. I know full well the atrocities of the Catholic Church, the corruption and crusades, but for some reason the villian Frollo seems down-right insulting to me from a religious standpoint. I'm honestly a little surprised I did react to that, but I did. :P

Darkwing Duck when he turns bad. You know [censored] is serious when even Negaduck is scared of him.

Walt Disney, for taking magical folk tales and making them crap.

While I do agree to some extent, the originals may not have survived if it weren't for his work. You can't deny that the animation was damn fine, though.

Jafar came to mind first, but I'm going to have to say Maleficent. She turns into a dragon.

Can't blame Walt Disney(most of the memorable characters would not exist if not for him, ala Mickey Mouse, who was voice by him). And he's been dead for decades now. I'm sure he's rolled around in his grave a few hundred times though.

Hades especially since he's always fun to battle in Kingdom Hearts. Scar is a close second. Though I hope they put in that grasshopper from a bug's life into the next game.

Perhaps. To an extent I was being rather churlish, though I hate what he did to Pooh.

Kingdom Hearts may or may not have influenced my pick. :P

Still, I probably would have picked Maleficent anyway.

I don't even remember most of the Disney villains in Kingdom Hearts... I like them better when they're not in Final Fantasy Land. :P

Disney did do a lot of editing to the old tales though. The original tale of Cinderella was a lot more bloody and gruesome especially when concerning what happened to her sisters.

Oh lol, it was bad. Then again, all of the Grimm's Fairy Tales that Disney butchered were quite bloody.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzu3IT590h4 You just can't win against him.

But by far the most wicked and dastardly Disney villain is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqF7JBlqkOA&feature=related&t=03m30s. How evil was she, you ask?

That's just not fair, Xetirox. His name is even Xanatos, for [censored]s sake; he's going to win no matter what. Plus, he's Commander Ryker.
