There are many, many Nords who would disagree with you.

Let's start with the Arch-Mages in Sovngarde and end with the various Dragon Priests that are scattered throughout Skyrim.

Mage for me. As others have said it is the most "involving" playstyle, requiring forethought and an intelligent use of magicka if you wish to survive.
I should add that stun-locking bores me to tears. Illusion and Conjuration are far more interesting.

I'm also very fond of the Nightblade (magically enhanced assassin) style of play. Purely using daggers too.

Maybe when I get it on PC I'll create an Archer of some sort as I always enjoy that style too... but I'm limited by the size and age of my TV. That and I cant hit moving targets with a controller.

Agreed, for me the most absorbing type of play, opens up a whole new set of problems for your character.

My favourite character is a Breton and I tend to be somewhere between an assassin and a Mage, relying on alchemy, illusion/conjuration and sneak as well as using mostly bows and daggers.

I usually roleplay (unless I want to avoid something or someone in the game, for example when I'm asked to find Esbern, I don't go to talk with Brenyolf because I (insert word here) hate the Thieves Guild. Important thing: I said I was an assassin, not a thief.

Breton is a good race. Currently using one as a mage and really enjoying it. They can become absolute masters in magic, even better than Dunmer. Mine looks like a greybeard with attitude, only he wears better robes.

Breton racial abilities, combined with the Atronach stone, is an amazing playthrough. It gimps your conjuration to necromany, but that's pretty awesome too.

i usually like starting out as a regular person then working my way up to a hero. i also make a descendant of a character from other games passed down all the way from morrowind, to oblivion, to skyrim and so forth.

Well my main way of playing is, choosing a race that i want to be (note: i dont like any non-human characters...theyre just plain ugly for me  ) and i just see where life Skyrim takes me :lmao: but from the RP part, my characters never care whether they do it for good or the bad, as long as they get payed well, theyll do it :hubbahubba: ..ohh and i always try to avoid using any magic except healing spells :mage:

definitely an argonian assassin. argonian because they can breathe underwater which gives you a few other approches to some situations without having to find a potion of waterbreathing or an item with the enchantment. and an assassin because what else are you going to play with an argonian, and there is nothing like clearing a dungeon of bandits with out any of them knowing anything.

An Orc wizard using Berserker Rage racial power combined with Fire Storm and Blizzard is [censored] fun as hell, as I've discovered.

I've played like this before. I've also played a "fallen hero"--a hero that turned evil because of some event/experience.

I play as a descendant of my OB character. Pretty much play as a sword and dagger duel wielding, khajiit warrior/healer

Archer. I also work with the arts of Illusion, a remnant of my sojourns as a stealth master. Illusion is exceedingly helpful in my various assaults, surprisingly, although I never pass up a moment for a well-placed sneak attack.

IMO, illusion is extremely underrated. It can be effective in stealth or stand-up combat situations.

Yeah. Firing frenzy at a group over there, pacifying the brute in front of me, casting courage at the allies running in fear, using fear on the charging bear, invisibly escaping and appearing on a faraway ledge as I nock another arrow... I love illusion.

I love to frenzy one guy and fear another. It's hilarious to watch them chase each other around.

I love using the master pacify spell and just walking through a bandit camp and talking to people who would otherwise kill you. Too bad it only works with the weak camps, but it's still fun!

My favorite play style is anti-mage character, i am so fond with anti-mage character since i play DotA (Magina and Drow Ranger), then in DA:O there is Templar and Spirit School magic for Mages (Mages can be an excellent anti-mage in DA:O, in fact an overpowered Templar). So in Oblivion and Skyrim, i am prone to make such build. And for that reason i love Breton.

Unfortunately, at the very start of the game i got offensive spell that is flame and in Skyrim, there is conjuration, summoning familiar in which contradict the concept, but i can pretend my Breton character learn magic just to know about it but never use it, so she learn every offensive and "dark" magic from tomes or books to know "how to counter them", but never use them

Anti-Mage is a character that rely on magic resistance, dispell magic, silence, mana burn, mana drain, cleanse area from magic...and strike with weapon or "holy magic" (or neutral magic)

As for anti-mage Mage, it is quite hard to make it in TES, because as a Mage, must rely on offensive spells as primary weapon, if there is such magic just using energy blast (or "magic" blast) it will be nice (In DA:O there is Arcane Bolt and Mana Clash, but Arcane Bolt is weak, so i spec my anti-mage Mage to become Arcane Warrior, using sword In DA:O)
