Favorite Style

Post » Wed Jan 23, 2013 1:03 am

I have been reading a lot of posts lately that talk about role playing or race choices. Here, I'd like to know what has been your favorite play style and why?

My favorite playstyle tends to be a hero, as in save people, no murder, etc. My favorite class is spellsword because, simply, I think it's really fun to play.

I added a poll, but I cannot see it.

I like how seamless spell sword play actually is. You don't have to break combat so often to switch weapons.

If I would just play some character spontaneously without having any real plans for them, they would become some sort of stealth/warrior hybrid. I'm not naturally inclined to playing mages. But I also don't block. I just can't get the hang of it. Like M'aiq says, it's better to hit twice

Edit: Oh, so you have the Poll Problem too. The only time I tried to make a poll here, it didn't work and people kept posting anyway... Most of them had completely misunderstood my question. If any experienced pollmaker could educate me, I'd be happy!

Yep.:) I like starting them on fire and then getting close and ending them with my blade.

Like the Argonians are fond of saying, "I don't understand shields. If you don't want to get hit, move out of the way."

As for a poll expert, I think we both need one! LOL.

good guy with a bow. I don't like the way you can be everything in the game, have 110 points in magic and head up the mages college, be a good guy and head of the thieves guild, join the Companions etc. So I stay away from factions/actions that give my guy moral conflicts. I'll try a thief on a play through and a mage on another.
The Thalmor are an exception, i lay in wait and ambush them on sight, getting good at keeping the prisoner alive.

Wow, I don't think I could choose one that I like more than the others. That's what I love so much about Skyrim. I can try out an unlimited number of playstyles, and enjoy each one! I don't think I could pick a favorite, though.

Pure mage, no weapons/armour as I find it requires more thought than any other play style.

Doesnt matter the game I always end up playing a Human Male Rogue type character - Daggers/Stealth/Poison/Bows/Light Armor.

Skyrim in the long run you get bored of a Mage after a few hours, a Warrior doesnt interest me, never has.

A Rogue though, making full use of Poisons and Stealth has by far the most variety gameplay wise.. you also have two guilds that fit your RP/Gameplay style perfectly.. you can even add in some Magic without killing off the immersion, Illusion for example :)

Just a shame Skyrim as a whole caters for the Nord Hero abit too much, my master Thief/Assassin doesnt sound quite so good when hes also Dragonborn.

But yeah Thief all the way

If I find a good staff, I'll use it with my left hand and either a quick axe or sword with the other one.

I lean more towards spell sword magic in one hand and a sword in another. Oh I wear light armor as well and he is a high elf and my goal in skyrim normally is pursue power above all else.

I usually play Wood Elf stealth archer w/ dual daggers as back up, and alchemy for support. I've played this way since morrowind. In all games, he starts off a thief, but then uses his skills and finds redemption by saving the world, helping people, etc. I also have made really good Bretons, who becomes a master wizard. I have made warriors before, but I don't find it as fun as the other two.

Exactly, send the antronachs in I say. Even on master you're going to be a god by level 35.

Nord, warrior/mage hybrids. Usually more warrior focused than mage.

Not if you conveniently "forget" to activate perks.

I enjoy conjuration, but I feel like I'm not even playing when I send two Dremoras. Necro is cool when you raise a Deathlord you just killed.

Rarely do I ever post anything on any forum, but, I thought I'd share my characters' traits, etc.

I don't 'try' to be a hero. I don't 'try' to be a bad person either. I just try to get on with my life. Every now and then, I stop by a city or a village and just help out to make a buck. If someone needs some bandits dead for 100 gold, then, al the better.

Sometimes I sneak by. Sometimes I just rampage through. And, sometimes, I need magic to help me.

In the end, I'm just another citizen of Skyrim trying to get by.

Tanking with light armor. Pretty dangerous but it's the only way to make this game challenging.

I usually play some form of mage. But lately, I've been running a light armored, battle axe-wielding Nord. You just can't go toe-to-toe and get into a bashing contest.
