First day of Quake Con

Post » Wed Dec 29, 2010 10:56 am

Eh, it wasnt game breaking. I was just sad cause I was expecting this man with a virginia peadmont accent, and all I got was this lousy computer. Nah, it was a nice twist, it was my initial response, mainly because in my first playthrough, I was svcker enough to think they were good guys (I loved his radio broadcasts)
But Fallout 3 was essentially Fallout 1's storyline with some revisions and put into a new land. Instead of getting a water chip to save your vault, you get a water chip to purify the water for all of the wasteland. President Eden was essentially the Master, only he wasn't a mutant-fused with a computer terminal, just an artificial intelligence that was also trying to fulfill a genocidal plan.

I will agree that it'll be a disappointment if Mr. House is turns out to be a computer or a robot, but I think it worked very well for Fallout 3 with what they were trying to do with the story.

You also forgot Edens and the Masters plans are both perfect when you remove Morales from the equations.

But yeah, I mean, I know stranger stuff has happened in the Fallout games. But I seriously hope Mr.House will be this 40-50 year old suave example of Pre-War life. I just hope the Devs have done so. :cryvaultboy:

Darn those human morales and ethics! :sadvaultboy:

I do as well. I hope he's a computer wiz, but not in any way part of a computer, attached to a computer, or has any sort of mechanical implants. I hope instead he's just an old suave guy trying to run New Vegas and trying to entice you to join his side even though he has certain moral issues that make him a "bad guy" to some degree too.

"You want me to help you stop both the NCR and Caesar's Legion 'for the people of the wasteland', yet you only let the rich and wealthy into your city?!"

I just want an official confirmation that there won't be anything anologous to survival edition for FNV, so I can go and preorder it at gamestop.

Those are good wants. Me, I'm obsessed for news on Mr.House, so I seriously hope it'll be confirmed he was a cryogenically frozen man and nothing more annoying, as I say alot, I dont want 'Zax computers' or some ridiculous crap. :cryvaultboy:

I'm still disappointed that signs are pointing at him being cryogenically frozen...It just reeks of "Return of the Joker" and "The Shadow". I really really wanted him to be this near-ghoulish old man in a suit with enough life support plugs coming out of him to look like dreadlocks.
His character had better be better than his lame origins.

Seeing as Amazon, the website that had the Survival Edition already has a pre-order possibility, and the Survival Edition was announced back in June (of 2008), 4 months before Fallout 3 came out, and now the game is less than two months away, I think I can pretty much confirm for you that there'll be no Survival Edition of Fallout: New Vegas. Bethesda probably will only feature something like that for their versions of Fallout, such as Fallout 4.

No, you cannot confirm anything, you can only speculate. And I can do that just as well. I want an official word. Thankfully, I've asked someone going to gamescon to ask Josh about that.

I didn't say I confirmed it, I said I pretty much can confirm it. I have experience in business and marketing, and there's no way that something as big as the Survival Edition (a $120 version of the game) would be announced when the game is two months away, that's way too much of a risk. They would have announced that they were going to do another Survival edition several months ago much like they did the pre-orders. Releasing that information this late into the year would piss off a lot of people who would have to go to a store/website and ask for their pre-order to be canceled, THEN order the Survival Edition from Amazon/whatever site is releasing it.

For Mr. House, I'd like to know what I do to finally meet the guy. I don't know how much they'll play off of Howard Hughes (obsessive compulsive, germ phobia, locked in casino), but I don't expect to hear anything but rumors about him. I could picture him as a crazy hairy old ghoul, but I'd rather see Mr. House for myself. Until then I'd like to see some settlements.

I would rather they push it out a month late and do it right the first time than push it out a month early and end up dumping a horribly buggy pile of crap on our hard drives.

welll to be honest it comes out a month early (shipping) but day 1 you'll usually get a patch to fix more bugs and glitches so really they can fix it over time

TROOOOOOOOOOOGS!!!!!
Seriously, it should be every single persons first goal to find out if Trogs are in the game.
It's the most important issue.

Adding trogs just might confuse people but other then that the Dam is very important. NCR and BoS had a war over it. Who ever controls the dam controls Vegas. Dam in Van Buren was to have many levels and sub levels. Even
Spoiler
Chinese agents trapped in the lower levels

It would svck it all it was was a small town with a few people living on the dam. I want it to have at least twice the population of Rivet City.

People need first impression confusion, it's a new game after all.

If you go to QuakCon and play FNV: 3rd Person View (3PV), does it have the same ability to zoom close and very far as in FO3? There was a suggestion that it was "locked" at the hips and all...

Info on what the Survival skill does, how the iron sights currently look, and any new perks/traits. And if there is some awesometastic weapon in the demos I must here about it.

On the subject of Mr. House and computers, wouldn't it be funny when you meet him and you walk into a room with a screen like Eden's? And then you find out its just a fancy intercom and he opens a sealed/hidden door for you to come in and meet him face to once-frozen face.

Agreed. I don't want so many story details. Give me news onthe mechanics.

Oh, and that would be hilarious. Imagining the faces of people about to RAGE, and then they are fooled. Would be beyond funny.
