for the next Patch...the Community wishes:

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 1:24 am

I am from Germany, so i excuse my gramatics...

This topic should be a summary of wishes and ideas for the next patches. I think, i am speaking for the whole community, which is using the personal computer for playing Skyrim.

1. Menues
I am very unhappy about the menues of Skyrim, and i am thinking, that many others feels the same way. for the pc the menues are very very uncomfortable. the most of the people are using keyboard & mouse, to enjoy the game. but also the most of the people are sad, about the (missing) design (because there is no design). the request to you, to create a comfortable menue for the pc-community, because the current menues of skyrim are NOT user-friendly and have no atmospheeric designs.

2. Horses
I bought a horse for 1000. the seller said to me, that i could choose an other name for my horse. where can i make it? also, the horse is reacting good on violent events (hiding, running away), but, aboce all in the night, a dark horse you cannot find in the plants. i have to choose the "wait-action" to wait until the sun′s growing up to find my horse behind a tree. the horse is not displayed on the compass or doesn′t make any sounds to tell me, that it is there or there. it would be very comfortable to whistle after the horse after the danger is over. that would be very great and realistic.

3. Graphics
The scenery and backgrounds are great. but on the pc, where the performances are larger than on Xbox or PS3, objects are popping in the distance. the apeal is, to improve the graphic-performance. according to your minimal specifications, my system would just be in the list of min. qualification. but i can play Skyrim with ALL graphics at the highest level. so you really may increase the performance to get more atmosphere. the shadows in many situations are very bad. please don′t make the failure, to prefer the consoles, because The Elder Scrolls have always been a flagship for the pc.

4. Gameplay
Because of the upper descriptions, the Gameplay is very good and the whole team made an awesome job. but the gameplay feels very console-like. it′s hard to cheer in front of the screen, because the feelings are lower-epic and grudgingly.

We all loves the Game,...but don′t forget the pc-community, which all over the years trusted you!

For more ideas, please post a non-attacking, but critical answer on this topic.

Thank you for your attention!

PS: forgive my language

They should just fix the whole game, because it is flawed at the moment. Very flawed. Everything you mentioned is good examples of things they should include.

Apparently enchanting needs some balancing.

There's enemies disappearing through the ground after killing them, NPCs falling through the bed/chair they are on when assassinated and the finishers aren't working most of the time you assassinate someone (no idea if it's supposed to be like that or not). I've also seen some funny videos where a giants club attack sends players flying high up into the air.. In addition, I saw a dragon fly through the ground and circle back up to the air. Did it twice on the same spot.

Stealth seems to need just *some* sort of overhaul. Or at least stealth attacks. I attack a bear with a bow, it starts running towards me, but before it's close enough to 'see' me I'm able to get 4 stealth attacks with the x3 damage.. Even though it's running straight at me..

Sometimes when dealing with merchants, when I switch categories (i.e. Weapons to Potions) I get sent back to the "What do you have for sale?" screen.

  • Fix the sound quality issue (if the sound quality is too high, instant crash...).
  • Fix random crashes (maybe it's tied to the above issue).
  • Smoother player's animations, especially when walking/changing direction.
  • Smoother menus, more appropriate for PC.
  • Graphics overhaul.
  • Fix the physic engine (I saw a flying skeleton...).
  • Fix the horse's AI: it attacks enemies when it should just hide/not move. Make it neutral.
  • Remake the merchant menu to be able to view both merchant's inventory and mine.
  • Bring the Agility back?

It's just a fantastic game and things will be better once some problems are fixed. They're asking for your dxdiag info in the PC problems forum so you can help get things fixed by providing the info. Best to put it in a spoiler tag because it's huge. The thread will be obvious.

Eh, apothecary in the city where they are "known" for their graveyard has a spelling error, wrose instead of worse.
Bows are very nice but the perk for increased damage, it says it does 20-40-60% etc, should that be added to arrows as well?
Crash once in awhile trying to pick things up from any type of container, you press R it asks how many as though you didn't want to "take all" and wanted to give it something, then crash.
(Haven't gotten there yet but does the silent spells let you get sneak attack criticals with spells? If not it should at least with a few (like the arrow conjuration one)

Edit:
Forgot a few, once in awhile a "dead" body will keep moving like it is alive (lootable and everything)
Animals walking underwater...no swimming animations for animals or what?
Arrows should be able to hurt things through water? (Probably not needed if animals were fixed and actually swam on top, damage should probably be lowered if it goes through water for a short distance)

Most likely most patches will just address bugs not add or changes features of the game. This is unfortunate

Nerf the [censored] giants. I know you're not meant to mess with them but they hammer you so hard that they send you to the throat of the world.

I am now 35 hours inn and I have to say Great game as always Bethesda. But I two minor things I would want.

* New dynamic town vendor economy. The more you sell and buy at a vendor, the more money the vendor(s) in the town get.
* A system to see which spells you already have when you are to purchase more at a vendor.

And im abit disapointed on the lack of choises so far. The side quests so far have been pretty straight forward. And some quests I just picked an option to think more thoroughly about it, but then I couldnt change my mind again(for example on the quest with the woman that was hunted by the guards)
And there are way too few types of enemies. Ive completed loads of dungeons now and It's always the same enemies over and over. It gets tedious and predictable.
Some of the dungeons that are supposedly been abandoned for houndreds, even thousands of years, still have the same loot as all the others. Abit strange.

The trick with giants is to attack with ranged attacks and traps. I've killed 3 and never been hit!

Also, you don't expect to withstand a tree trunk swung at you by a humanoid 20 times your size, no matter how much armor you're wearing, do you? :D

On topic, magic needs to be tweaked.

I think this is because before you are actually detected, the NPCs/creatures are going to the place they heard the sound or whatever. I cleared out a whole den of about 10 bandits with sneak attacks from my bow by running back and forth across a drawbridge. They would run to where i was shooting from and look around, find nothing and walk back, then I would do the same from the other side. Rinse and repeat.

Haha, I was looking for a thread like this, couldn't find it and made one :P.

Besides several things mentioned I would like:

* The custom player marker (the blue one) stick to the foreground of the compass. It now hides behind the white quest markers.

* The description of an archery skill says it will draw you bow 30% faster, It doesn't, it draws your arrows faster. (Sounds stupid, but I didn't take that skill or some tim because I thought: why take it, I have my bow in my hand all the time anyway.

* Make the horse you own at least show up on your radar. Whisting for it and buying horse deeds instead of horses for 1000 each would be even better, but l least make them show on your radar.

The object physics... dear god please fix them. Nearly every single room of my game is a mess because when I open a door to some house and walk in, at times it's like an invisible bomb goes off there and all the pots, plates, vegetables and other misc items go flying across the room and I'm just standing there in awe...
The inns are the worst because the items start moving around without any apparent reason again and they keep making this incredibly annoying sound in the background while I try to talk to people.

My only wish - don't nerf any creatures. I love the difficulty of the game at the moment and would hate to see that taken away because some people don't like the fact that they can't beat everything they run into.

MORE SPELLS. When the CK comes out I can add a whole bunch myself but for god's sake the console people will suffer if you don't add more spells. It's damned simple: make weaker versions of more powerful effects and more powerful versions of the basic spells. Maybe a rapid fire firebolt that doesn't require as much charging, a weak, flawed invisibility effect that has to be sustained, or bring back chameleon as a spell that makes you more difficult to detect visually. At the very least put some higher-level versions of the basic flames/sparks/frostbite spells. I was planning to build my guy around those effects since I'm a close-range spellsword but they just svck and I'm sick of waiting for the construction kit to come out so I can make better versions of them that work with the perks.

PC need for next patch:

Being able to sprint when walking would be awesome there no reasons we have to be on running mode to be able to sprint.

A patch correction walking speed would be awesome too right now we arent able to walk more the 2 KM per day, really snail pace.... Or i don t know include speed perks... whatever.

quick keys, speed keys like 1 to 0 or KP 1 to KP 9 so we don t have to acess any meny and break combat immersion when we want to switch to weapon and spells
Make them so we can bound weapons, shield and arrows on which hand goes what (if needed), same for spells.

And / If not able, at least a shift key that allow to switch beetween combat set 1 to combat set 2... Breaking the game each time you want to swith combat setting is chore and a pleasure killer.

True left handed, right now all characters are right handed only , it isn t possible to hold a shield on the right hand, and secondary weapons doesn t appear on character (very minor issue this last one.)

Be able to give a tittle to saves would be nices, when you play multiple characters its a pain in the rear end this Consolish game save.

It would be nice when we have a bow that such doesn t disapear when he s not the primary weapon, It would be nice too if primary and secondary weapon would appear on character, or set one and set 2 if one is ranged and other melee.

Be able to use KP keyboard on PC.

I agree fully. People just keep complaining because they realized they can actually die in the game. It's not Oblivion where you can murder everything in site in seconds. I love when I encounter a higher level enemy who I am no match and I have to retreat and then strategize on how to overcome it. I hope the Giants do not get nerfed just because they are powerful. They are powerful cuz they are [censored] GIANTS! Getting smashed by that giant club will most likely kill you. Plus I find the flying 100 feet in the air bug hilarious. Shame people are complaining that they are getting their ass kicked and wants the game easier.

Very minor, but I wish there were a store or a way to change my characters facial features after the initial character creation, in terms of facial hair and war paint.

You can do this by saving though the console. You can type in "Save YouNameHere"
