For PC users: What rig do you got?

Post » Tue Jun 15, 2010 5:03 am

My rig:
-Intel Core i7 860 2,8Ghz
-8GB DDR3 Ram
-Asus GTX 285 graphic card
- Windows 7 Home Premium. (x64)
- Samsung Syncmaster 245b 24" monitor
- Logitech G13 keyboard
- Logitech G5 mouse
- Steel series mouse pad
- Logitech x540 5.1 speaker system
- Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion sound card

I run the game at 1920x1200 on very high and FRAPS show around 50-60 FPS. Good enough for me
If I change to Extreme setting it drops down to 33-48 FPS. Playable but I prefer highter FPS so I run it in Very High.

Nice game Crytek. I really like it so far (been playing for a couple of hours now)

AMD Phenom X4 9750 2.4GHz
PNY GTS 250 1GB
8GB DDR2 800

Runs very well on Very High at 1920x1080 and I get about 30-40 fps.
For some reason I don't like the way Extreme looks.
Blurs the entire image in a way that kinda bothers me.

12gb DDR3 RAM Kit Corsair Vengeance
1st HDD - Corsair F120 SSD
2nd HDD - WD 1Tb
Gigabyte GTX 460 S.O.C 1gb

I haven't gone as far as to use any cmd line suggetions for "extra" graphics options bringing the setting up to whats normal in any other game ATM. I'm running at 1920x1080 on Extreme and its smooth as silk.

Does anyone know if the cmd line options getting around can increase the graphics further again?

I tried OCing my 920 up to 4.5ghz but it didnt increase the frame rate whatsoever, the game is very GPU dependent I guess, once SLI is enabled and everything is maxed. As a result I offloaded all PhysX to my CPU since it has so much headroom left even at 2.7ghz

I thought it will set a new standard for gaming hardware like the 1st Crysis, but it's a dissapointment. Consider how advance the hardware nowadays, I was expecting at least in game objects such as vehicles will get damage effect when we use power kick or something...oh well.

Anyway, my gaming/media editing PC:

i7-2600K @ 3.9GHz
Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3
Corsair Vengeance 16GB
Asus GTX570
