For PC users: What rig do you got?

Post » Sat Jun 12, 2010 5:33 pm

For all of you that are serious about playing Crysis 2 at high or max out quality and 50FPS, what's your rig's specs?

Depending on how optimized the game will be, I think I have a shot at running at least 50FPS on max settings at 1280x1024 resolution.

AMD Phenom X4 955
2x2GB RAM @ 1333MHz
ATI HD5850x2 Xfire
Windows 7 Home

Yeah, Crysis 2 will be optimized for smoother frame rates, so besides from Sonic; we will all be able to run Crysis 2 on very high at 30fps +.

@Shin, just a note for the Gtx 580. It may cost huge now, but the price is worth it. Still can't imagine how this will play Crysis 2.

Yeah totally but i'm in no need for an upgrade right now as the 285 still does me perfectly fine. No point paying $600 now when i might be able to pay $500 in 2-3 weeks time :)

Its still a pain in the ass to try and use Cryengine 2 in certain situations, mostly when i come across a memory overload. But the system only cost me about $400 to make no joke.

Same here :)

i7 920
P6T Deluxe V2
6Gb OCZ
GTX 285 SLI
128Gb Samsung SSD
2 X 700W PSU (lol)

There is whole bunch of new things comming out in Q1 2011 to wait for:

New Intel chips, chipsets and SSDs. AMD 6900 series cards. GTX 500 series cards and price drops. New SSDs from various manufacturers sporting the new Sandforce controllers with SATA III. Exciting year next year. Will possibly redo my whole rig :)

oh god this is so depressing looking at all those awesome GPU's! As long as it really is as optimized as they make out my old 4870 shouldn't fare too badly... I hope.

Two 4870's should get Crysis on very high pretty well. 25 Fps+

Anyways, it's pretty awesome how most of us can run Crysis smoothly on very high.
But does the framerate drop a bit for anyone else in Wars?

I can run Warhead in DX9, 4x AA and Enthusiast settings, 1080p resolution @ 35 fps right now.

Intel Q9400 @ 2.67Ghz
Asus P5Q SE2 P45 chipset
Kingston 4GB DDR2 @ 800Mhz 4-4-4-12
Zotac GTX 460 1GB @ 750Mhz

Seeing as CE3 is more optimized, utilizes DX11, I'm willing to bet I could run the game pretty good. If not completely maxed out, but at least close. Anti-aliasing is extremely important to me, so I might need to make a few compromises in the quality settings. But Fermi is better at Anti-Aliasing and with the nVidia gig Crytek has going, who knows.
