I thought the creepy looking, skinny bald guy was a Warlock due to his discoloured lips... also Emilia Clarke hinted that the scenes would be there in an interview there anyway. Also... SHADOW BABEH!

Ah. . .good. Good. She was an interesting character despite the fact that she only has three lines in the books.

Don't know if this was posted in a previous thread - it's a little dated:

For anyone who's finished Dance with Dragons and doesn't want to wait until 2014 to get a peek at Winds of Winter, Martin posted a chapter from WoW on his blog - read it http://georgerrmartin.com/if-sample.html.

They have to do the House of the Undying or Dany will have nothing to do all season, unless they move some events up.

What I am wondering is if they will show all the visions and how people will react to them.
Spoiler
The king with the direwolf's head could be a spoiler. Then again, who knew that GRRM was going to be so literal.

I think I have to read those chapters myself as a reminder. It's been a long time since I read ACoK.

Have you finished that book?
Spoiler
At the end of book 3 you should see Catelyn resurrected and began hunting the Freys. Although there are simply too many of them

just ask here if you don't want spoiler.

Mayhaps my favorite part is Manderly and the feast.

:liplick:

Also Salador Saan is a Lyseen - Meaning he is a white and has pale blonde hair but the actor did him justice personality wise.

After reading the Red Wedding and the few chapters after that and then connecting the Red Wedding with Dany's House of the Undying chapter,
Spoiler
I see what Martin did. He meant for the readers to take Dany's vision of the direwolf with the kings body as symbolism, then in the letter that Twin receives from Walder Frey, we actually find out that the Frey's sow the direwolfs head onto the kings body.

Is that Egg related to http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_TxWVCh5xU2w/THFK0pMta6I/AAAAAAAAAxg/pMHSXY_TRvY/s1600/egg.jpg, http://i.lv3.hbo.com/assets/images/series/game-of-thrones/character/aemon-targaryen-1024.jpg or neither of them?

Dunk and Egg readers had some nice bits in ADWD which connect to the stories.
Spoiler
You should recognize Bran's "raven" in the Dunk and Egg prequels, for instance- you don't meet him in the stories but hear a lot about him- and some things from Bran's visions like the image of a tall man kissing a woman in the weirwood in Winterfell.

GRRM is planning to write several more, the next one set in Winterfell. He's also signed a deal to release all of them together in graphic novel form. Right now they're scattered in three different anthologies.

I wish he'd just focus on Winds of Winter :whistling:

I love the prequels so I'm happy he's writing them. For a Targaryen fan they're a treat.

It could be argued whether Dany is a [censored] or not, but surely even her most loyal supporters can't deny her entitlement.

Dany claiming that the Iron Throne is hers by right is just as valid as Stannis saying the Iron Throne is his by right. By law Stannis has rights to the Iron Throne because he was next in line after Robert died. But if one was to say the Baratheon's never had a right to the Iron Throne in the first place, they could say that Dany does have the right to the throne. I think whoever takes the crown or earns it is the one that deserves it.

Dany thinks she deserves the crown because her family was murdered and the Iron Throne stolen along with them. But the Targaryen's only had the right to the throne by conquest. So what makes Dany think she's has a right to the throne compared to anyone else? She thinks she has the right to the Iron Throne because her family once did.

Yep...there seem to be two methods of placing one's self on the Iron Throne: succession and coup/war. One doesn't seem to be any more valid than the other as far as Westerosi history is concerned. :P

I don't think those are Unsullied, just city guard.
That's a relief! With so many story beats from later books being moved up I thought the Unsullied would be too. I can't wait.

I just finished ADWD. Now what do I do?
Get the Roy Dotrice audiobooks and start over. :D I think the only one he hasn't read is AFfC. Seriously, they're awesome.

More cringing Theon. :( I really liked Theon so all his Reek chapters in ADwD were hard to read. I guess GRRM is determined to prolong his suffering.

Read the stories and find out.

Even with the mad ones and all the bastard rebellions, I think Westeros was better off with the Targaryens than anyone else. I'm Team Dany.

I probably am too...not because she's a Targaryen, though. She's idealistic and naive (not to mention a teenage girl toting around all the drama that that comes with), but she actually means well and cares for her people. That's a step up from most of their other monarchical prospects.
