Yea we do.

And for all of us that read the books, we have to wait atleast 2 more years until the Winds of Winter is released. :(

As long as it's good then that's all that matters.

Wait, we have to wait... until...

APRIL 2013? :swear:

[censored].

Spoiler
Did Sam die or did the white-walkers leave him alone?

Also, not as many main characters died in S2.

And while I haven't even read the books, this is just a theory of mine:

At the end of the series, it's going to come down to Denaerys' dragons against the White Walkers. She might die or have a change of heart, but the dragons are going to pretty much be the key to stopping them I think. Maybe they will come under the control of Bran and (his brother). I think Rob will die off. He will besiege King's Landing, maybe control it shortly, or something drastic will happen and his plans will come crushing down on his head (like what happened with Eddard). Arya may reunite with her brothers. I think Stannis will invade King's Landing again, he will be successful, if only for a short time. Tyrion will probably be important all the way up until the end, but I see him dying, maybe in an act of honor or bravery. Jon will unite the wildlings under him, or get them to work with everyone south of the wall to defeat the White Walkers. The Greyjoys will probably die. They aren't very developed yet, so I can't really tell. Jamie will most likely be an antagonist throughout the series. Jamie, Tyrion and Cersei's dad (don't know his name) I think is going to die soon. Unless they start developing his character a lot, I don't think he'll last as Hand of the King.

This is just my speculations, really just rambling on about what I think will happen. Was a good season, looking forward to the next. Thinking about picking up the books.

Awesome episode and a fitting finale to the season!

(S02E10)
Spoiler
Loved the Drogo cameo. The room got a little dusty for a bit. Ditto for Maester Luwin's end. He went out like a boss.

Also, how great was the way Theon's epic speech was undercut? It wasn't exactly what happened in the books, but it was perfect. When we see Theon go through all that stuff in Pyke for the first time, we sort of assume that he's getting his balls busted as set up for when he eventually gains the grudging respect of his men. That this never happens pretty much dovetails nicely with Theon's personal arc.

Jaqen's face changing was handled very nicely, and I liked the way they set up the Faceless Men in a quick sentence.

I kinda want to see more of Stannis at this point. Stephen Dillane doesn't much look like my earlier idea of Stannis, but he was great in this episode.

'Dracarys' was a little underwhelming but given the strength of what came before (the Drogo scene and the ghostly Red Keep one) I don't mind so much.

I only have 100 pages left to go in aFfC. Who liked aDwD better?
Not me. Overall AFfC managed to feel introspective and calm-before-the-storm. Although the Cersei chapters dragged a little (it was the first time I became impatient with GRRM's pacing), they're still not bad, and AFfC also has a pretty big 'oh snap' reveal moment* that I don't think anything in ADwD matched.

But the main problem with ADwD is too many new major characters, when the story was already starting to get bogged down by the sheer number of discrete narratives. I guess at least one was pretty important to the big picture**, but overall it just felt like a lot of it could have been trimmed by a competent editor.

(book 5)
Spoiler
For example, was the Martell boy's journey really necessary to chronicle in detail, along with Tyrion's? I feel like one or the other would have sufficed. Speaking of which, Tyrion's chapters were surprisingly a drag to get through.

And the big battle at Meereen that the whole book has been building towards couldn't even fit in a book that's over a thousand pages.

And while I was very shocked at what happened to Jon, I've since been convinced that he's not really dead, which diminishes the impact of that scene somewhat. Of all GRRM's literary tricks, I dislike his 'still alive twist' trick the most, because it leads people to second-guess unexpected character deaths, which in turn robs them of some of their power. For instance when I first read ACoK I was really upset by Bran and Rickon's apparent death, and was happy when they turned out to be not dead, but this undercut Robb's fate later on a little because I kept expecting GRRM to go "lol not really" in a few chapters.

How about that ending? Suprised myself. Very impressed with the final look of the others.

Great episode.

I loved the design for the White Walkers at the end - much better than what I remember from the opening episode of season 1.

With season 2 out of the way, I finally have a chance to get ahead of the TV series with the books.

I was skeptical of their ability to tie up all of the loose ends with just one episode, but I felt that the only thread they rushed was that of Theon, Bran and Winterfell. Other than that, it was a very good episode.

Ohhh yeah. I forgot about that final scene. The white walkers were legitimately terrifying.

Just rewatched the episode. I wonder how long they set up the cameras behind Tywin's horse and waited for it to take a steaming dump on the floor before beginning that throne room scene. I don't envy that cameraman.

Really good episode in my opinion.
Spoiler
I'm a bit scared for Sansa now. Seems to me that the only thing keeping her alive was that she was betrothed to Joffery.

Spoiler
Also, I can finally understand why the Nights Watch say their mission is more important than the politics and wars of the rest of Westeros. Seeing that army of the Others makes the civil war and everything else seem kinda trivial.

Now I'll be able to catch up on the books until next year!

Spoiler tags man......

Anyway I don't think Sansa really has to worry, she still remains a bargaining chip.

This. And that fact that Martin managed to make every one of Dany's POVs (except the final one) an absolute bore.

Episode 10:

Spoiler

Very puzzling why Robb's vows would be portrayed like they were - all The Seven - none of the Old Gods.

Jaqen's face change was very well done.

Tyrion's wound was a nice touch. Easier to go with than him missing half a nose.

I really want to know what Stannis saw in those flames. And I liked how he choked Mel. . .Maybe because I always wanted him to do that :hehe:

The house of the undying was okay for what it was. It could have been so much more though. A third dreamy scene that foreshadows an event from season three. The book had so many of them. Though the blasted out, snowy Red Keep seemed like an allusion to the Others and winter coming.

A bit cold what Dany did to Xaro and Doreah. . .ice cold.

Lastly, loved the Others and their zombie hoard - but the Others should have been riding elk, dammit!

Yeah, I thought Sam was good as dead. Perhaps he still is, trapped out in the cold with more Others around him. I'm also really interested to see what happens to Jon.

Elk are expensive, damnit!
Overall I thought it was quite good, obviously not as spectacular as last episode, but it wrapped up most of the plots pretty well.

They might be postponing the explanation until next season. I'm not sure if they're going to follow the events from the books, though. One of the characters essential to that part of the story has been conspicuously missing from the TV show.

I hope they follow the books. That character is quite important for the events that unfold later on in the novels.

In Valar Morghulis, when the Greyjoys leave. Do they set Winterfall on fire, or is it the army outside?

And WHERE did that army go? Wasn't it the Bastard's army? Why wasn't it shown looking for Bran?
