Game Of Thrones Discussion #204

In Valar Morghulis, when the Greyjoys leave. Do they set Winterfall on fire, or is it the army outside?

And WHERE did that army go? Wasn't it the Bastard's army? Why wasn't it shown looking for Bran?
Book spoiler inside:
Spoiler
It's been a while since I last read the books.. but as far as I recall, Lord Bolton is not entirely fond of Robb. So when his bastard's army finally gets inside Winterfell (possibly after letting the Iron Islands go, and possibly also taking Theon as a hostage) they burn Winterfell. EVEN MORE SPOILER AHEAD-->Later on, in the books, the Boltons seizes control of most of the north after they completely betrayed Robb.

I hope they follow the books. That character is quite important for the events that unfold later on in the novels.

In the show, Roose told Robb he'd sent his bastard (Ramsay) to Winterfell to retake the castle so I'd expect Ramsay to be cast for next season.

. . .Next season. . .

What am I going to watch for the next 11 months?

Or read for the next four years? :sadvaultboy:

The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight.
I have to buy those at a book store. I could purchase them off of my iPad but I prefer paperback.

People accuse Victarion of being a dumb brute. I say they're missing the outstanding practical advances he's made in the application human sacrifice in religious ceremonies.

Oh yeah, definitely. That scene was one of the most heartwarming scenes I've ever read in a piece of fiction. To see these, so diametrically opposed religions band together in a historical era known for it's religious intolerance and fundamentalism brought a tear to the eye, and I challenge you to find someone who behaved otherwise.

I can't wait to see which religions in Westeros band together in aDwD. I only have 80 pages left to go in aFfC. I found it a little confusing when Littlefinger

explained to Sansa that Robert has an heir. But it was surprising nonetheless.

The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight.
I wish he'd compile and publish them in one book already. I read Hedge Knight in one of his anthologies ('Dreamsongs' or something). I also have the graphic novel for Sworn Sword, but I get the sense that a lot is lost in the transition to a comic book medium. The anthologies the latter two novellas are published in are ridiculously hard to find.

I never thought Cersei was so stupid, I realized it especially when she

gave the sept more power. She is now imprisoned because of the power she gave the sparrows and septons. Plus Osney Kettleback was tortured and he told the High Septon everything. I think Margaery Tyrell helped set Cersei up, and Taena was informing Margaery of Cersei's plans

While Margaery Tyrell is quite cunning ... you should rather watch out for her grandmother, Olenna Redwyne. She's probably the most capable politician and schemer at Kings Landing at this time in the books, maybe excluding Varys.

Olenna's a total babe. Being a Tyrell is probably the best thing that could happen to you if you were in Westeros. Powerful, incredibly wealthy, no 'omg DYNASTY' pressure like the Lannisters have, awesome grandmother...

[censored] yeah, Tyrells.

Not to mention Margaery Tyrell is quite the babe.

I was looking at buying the first 4 books since it appears the rest are no where near the shelves, £24 for them seems like a decent deal only £6 each. Though I don't buy/read books that seems like a good deal since I actually like the series and it'll last longer than a game for £35

In Feast I was wondering what he was up to. But Feast and Dance are separated geographically. But I can't wait to see what happens to Cersei.

Not that that'll do you any good if you're born a Tyrell. Didn't the High Septon tell you that incist is bad? :P

The only problem would be all the annoying men you'd have to deal with. Mace is nowhere near as bad as a Tywin or a Doran, but he seems like a minor jerk, and then you've got some of the Bannermen, like Randyll Tarly... I'd love to be a Tyrell, so long as I was allowed to spend most of my time with the Ladies of my house, and the rest of it doing my own thing. The Starks still hold the edge in terms of family love and happiness.

Edit: apparently the things porcupines are covered with count as a dirty word. Who knew?

I dunno, all the blokes seem to be fairly decent as well: Garlan, Willas, Loras... Garth the Gross farting all the time would be annoying maybe. [censored] Leo Tyrell though, man's a dike.
