Watched the Lord of the Rings extended edition last weekend, probably ranking in my top 5 favorite Book/Movie series.
And I'm highly looking forward to the two Hobbit moves in 2012 and 2013.

Haha, speaking of that I recently got the Man with No Name trilogy(Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly) on blu-ray. Great movies
I love that trilogy although I have to admit I love http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064116/ even more, it's possibly my favorite movie. I was very lucky to see it at a theater last year, on a big screen, what an amazing experience it was.
The only old movie I've seen recently the for the first time is Vertigo
Vertigo is really great, I love Kim Novak

Alright since we're talking about old movies, I have seen three good film-noirs from the 40s recently:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037008/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0035432/
and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038669/
I'd already seen Laura in the past but I had mostly forgotten it, so it was like seeing it for the first time. These three movies are really good, and what a fantastic cast they all have!

I've also recently seen an old western, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0041866/. I enjoyed it quite a lot as well.

I think a lot of it is that it'll be long so they break each movie into two parts. I'm HOPING this will be a good thing since I'm of the logic 'Split it up=closer to the books'

Some time ago I saw Citizen Kane and The Third Man, both movies have Orson Welles in them and are quite old (Black and White old) But they were really good. The Third Man really surprised me with it's photography, noir never looked better.

Among others would be most of Sergio Leone's westerns, ie; The man with no name trilogy and Once upon a time in the west. Proof than none can surpass mr. Eastwood in badassery

Watch Peter Sellers in, " The Party" . This movie is literally a time capsule of the 1960s and that whole American lavish dinner party style of living that was so prevelent among the middle-upper and upper class in the 1960s. Its hilarious and really one of the finest examples of slapshtick comedy done right.

Last year a week before christmas I watched the colourized, HD version of It's a wonderful life because I had never seen it and it is considered one of the American Christmas classics. I really loved it but was surprised how little it had to do with Christmas. I think only the last 10% of the film was set during Christmas when he was with the guardian angel and everything. The rest of it though was really amazing. The story and character development was brilliant.

Just finished watching Scarface for the first time. I honestly thought it was a really good movie, and it's funny because I'm the type of person who doesn't like unnessecary language in movies, and honestly, the language wasn't really unnessecary if you ask me. Al Pacino was excellent IMO.

last month i have seen:
Pursuit of Happyness
It's a Wonderful Life
They Shoot Horses, Don't They?

- and enjoyed. I am going to watch H.Bogart collection of 6 movies: Casablanca, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Key Largo, The Big Sleep, To Have and Have Not, Maltese Falcon. Just bought it. It will be enough for the next month. (edit: ofc Casablanca - it's not the first time for me)

I enjoy old movies very much.
Have you seen http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1655442/? Is it worth to go to cinema?

The Spy Who Came in from the Cold
That's the best spy movie there is. They don't even need to make other spy movies anymore.

Pulp Fiction.

I'm glad my gaming clan has weekly movie nights or I wouldn't have seen this masterwork of Tarantino.

I'm pretty sure it was either too long or they are two seperate storys, I havem't read the Hobbit book(I know, shame on me...)
The first one is called "The Hobbit:An Unexpected Journey"
and the other is "The Hobbit:There and Back Again"

Well, on halloween a few years back I went to see Dr. Jackle and Mr. Hyde for the first time, the old silent one. Scared the [censored] out of me, they had to act with their facial expressions and body language which made Hyde terrifying.
