The one thing ive liked about halo was that they created it from one game, and built a universe around it as they kept going and it gained a life of it own.

Well first off I had the new gameinformer for quite some time, but was uninformed :( But anyways the cover was Halo 4, so I had to read it immediately.

The release date has been announced, it will come out on November 6th, in the US at least.

They don't seem to have the full article on the site, so I will post the multiplayer article and try and sum up the other one.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2012/04/16/the-changes-to-halo-39-s-competitive-multiplayer.aspx stuff. Essentially you are allowed to make loadouts, consisting of primary weapon, secondary weapon, grenade type, something I forget..., and an armor customization. The idea seems alright as long as they leave many of the powerful weapons left around the maps to find. Then they said that the multiplayer will actually be tied into the single player story so you just aren't "killing dudes". Armor also has usefulness in this one, and they said like Call of Duty, so I'm guessing a piece of armor would give you a below radar or blast shield ability, or something like that. Finally there is a mode called Spartan Ops which also ties in with the story, you and 3 other friends get missions that are updated weekly, and some kind of info to go with that. I thought that was the coolest thing about the multiplayer. Also no elites to play as

The single player seems to try and focus on John more as a person than a soldier, some I would expect some kind of backstory for him. They said that you start in Forward Unto Dawn, when Cortana awakes you, and you have to get off the ship. By the way the year is 2557, 4 years after Halo 3. So they first enemies you see are elites and grunts. Chief thought they had a truce, but they don't know. Cortana mentions that they are not equipped with normal combat gear, but there is still a fleet of them surrounding the ship. The book glasslands hinted at the fact that the truce was shaky, so it seems logical it broke up.

Then they sort of described the new unknown enemy. They tried to make it really different from the covenant, so you aren't just facing the same enemy in a different skin. They are also supposed to work together, so that facing one would be its own challenge, facing two would be a different challenge, and facing three would yet again be different. They are also supposed to have abilities or something.

Also they mention Cortana's rampancy and they say that it will be incorporated into the story somehow, she killing herself and all.

Pretty sure there was more, but that is all I remember.

I miss playing Halo---that's why I bought the 360 remake and next month I'm getting a 360 with 320GB hard drive. You think it'll get along with my PS3 or will I have to keep them seperate :P ?

That's a lot of memory for one game, seems like you will be interested in something else. :)

When I get the 360 I buying:
Halo 1
Halo 2
Halo 3
and
Halo: Reach.
No ODST---that dosen't look that interesting to me.
Star Trek Legacy.
Gears of War series.
and whatever else comes my way, I've heard that the first Soul Calibur is on Xbox arcade so I'l getting that. as for why I'm getting a unit with such a large memory. Going to buy a unit you might as well buy the best one they got. Also with the new 360 design, I really haven't heard anything bad with them. No RRoD or anything so why not...plus my sister and her husband have one so now I can keep in touch with them better .

Edit:
Oh and Halo 4----gotta get that one too .

It's alright, I bought it a couple months ago just so I could have all of the games :) and have not really played it. I got Halo Wars for the characters and story (and so I could control Scarabs)

Are those yours? You should see mine, I have about 20 of them :) I want to buy more, but I keep forgeting to go out, they should have the newest series out too.

You guys really should try out ODST. It's certainly something different from the others, but in my opinion, it was Bungie's only attempt to create a really good story for a game. Sure, the Trilogy is fine and all, and Reach was (in my opinion) much more character oriented than the Trilogy... but ODST was just plain good. Something about being just a normal ODST looking out for your squad is just plain fun, not to mention the side story with the SI, and the talent of the voice actors.

Man, I really hope 343i makes a sequel to ODST. They'd solidify my liking of them with that.

I'm still looking forward to H4, though I'm not too happy about the release date. I would've prefered a September release, but maybe I'm just being greedy. A curious coincidence, I notice, is that the next "Crucify Halsey" book comes out in October (guh), which is a month later than the more recent Halo games have been coming out around... and since this trilogy ties directly into H4, it would then make sense that the game would be delayed for the book to come out before it.

I've beaten it once, but I borrowed it then. I just don't want to play it again.

Yeah they're mine---I wished the Ghost was electonic though, it would have been cool to see the dashboard and engines light up and make sounds.

My PS3 and Xbox get along great. I have games for both of them. Non-exclusives I get for 360 though because that's what all my friends are on.

I've seen the RC Scorpion, Jeeps and those twin rotor flying crafts (Hornets was it ?) introduced in Halo 3. I have a Twin Rotor like craft from Air Hogs, it's a nice indoor heli but damn it'll kill 6 AA batteries in about a week....but man is it fun to fly .

I can't wait till the first of next month to get a new X-Box 360----I really miss playing Halo.

I think I was around 6 years old and my dad said he was bringing home an "Xbox" had no idea what it was but he hyped up Munch's Oddysee (which was supposed to be like Mario for Xbox but was a huge bust) and also Halo..I figured it was a bunch of Angels and Devils fighting or something. Then it became my first video game and I was six :) so from an early age video games were a huge part of my life and I was very sad when Bungie stopped the Halo Series. But I'll give Halo 4 a chance and hope it doesn't end up like how sonic the hedgehog is nowadays.

Same kind of thing for me! :D My dad brought the thing home when I was also 6, and it was the special green Halo edition. The backstory was just so good. Halo lore is very cool, I love stories where against all odds, winning is never impossible.

Most of the really important people who worked on Halo moved to 343. Then there have been people around the world who willingly quit there job so they can work on the game. I think the crew is alright.

I always liked Halo. I bought it for my computer back when it first came out. I don't know if I like the idea of the truce between the Elites and the humans breaking up. I was hoping to see diplomatic relationships between humanity and the elites improve.

The idea was introduced in one of the books. Knowing the nature of both species it seems fairly obvious their truce would break apart.

Halo CE was the reason my brother and I bought an XBox. We played it over our cousins' house first, after that we just had to own it.

Halo 2 was some of the most fun I've had playing online. I'd be up til 6am some nights. Not even in matchmaking, sometimes just messing around in customs. Exploring maps, sword canceling, rocket lunging was so much fun.

I didn't bother with CEA, but I'll probably check out 4.

Me and my brother were the same, except my parents wouldn't get Halo 2 or a 360. I was playing Halo CE until 2007, when I finally got Halo 2 :)

Anyone see the Conan thing? http://teamcoco.com/video/conan-halo-remote I haven't watched it myself yet.

I just started reading up on Halo lore. I have to say - it's really interesting. I read one of the books before, maybe three years ago, and didn't think much of it. But the ideas are awesome.

I particularly like the http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Didact. Very interesting character. Better than Master Chief.

Just a bit confused: How long do forerunners live? Do we know? They seem to have a very long lifespan. . .or maybe they're some kind of cyborgs?

Also found this confusing:
Spoiler

How can the http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Prisoner_of_Charum_Hakkor be both a Precursor and a Gravemind? Doesn't being one preclude being the other?

Looking forward to Halo 4 now

Heres hoping for a return of the ODSTs.
They're always my favorite support, in their cool black armour and fancy toys to boot.

If you're interested in the Forerunners you should check out the trilogy being written about them. I know you said you didn't like the book you read, but the first one of this trilogy (name escapes me and I'm on a phone) is in paperback now so you can probably pick it up pretty cheap. The second one came out around New Years I believe.

EDIT: Brain-flash! The series is just called The Forerunner Saga, and the first one I believe is Cryptum.

Man it svcks that the Elites would be fighting the humans again... What the hell is the point in that. My guess is that the elites and humans are mainly neutral but there are a few that are still covenant loyalists and wish to revive the covenant and take the place the prophets had. If they were fighting the humans for real, you would think that the entire earth would be glassed pretty quickily.
