Have the Guide. Any Questions?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 9:46 pm

Q - what items are there (not including armour) that provide any defensive help?

Specifically, as a robe using mage, are there ring, amulets, robes etc. that have any of:

- resist, absorb or reflect spells
- provide any damage resistance

...and what are the most powerful robes?

Any info greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance

Yep. Biiiiiiiig index! haha too big :P

Lover's Stone - All it says is its located in The Reach region - grants skill increases to ALL skills 15% quicker though. Worth looking for in The Reach region guys.

Hmm...why do I get the nagging sensation that getting to the stone in The Reach ain't going to be a cake walk? Looking on the map seems it'll be best to start my expedition to find the stone from Rorickstead. Is Rorickstead actually a safe little town?

@Ajwol Semreth: So Dual-casting:

Conjuration - it increases the duration of all spells but not the strength
Illusion - more than doubles the duration of all spells and allows them to effect targets twice as high as the spell's level cap would normally permit
Alteration - doubles duration of alteration spells, but doesn't seem to effect the strength of the spell (need perks for that i guess)
Destruction - more than doubles the dmg of spells
Restoration - doubles the effectiveness of some restoration spells (Healing, Wards) and the duration of others (turn undead)

@Bluntski: The Lovers Standing Stone is located northeast of Markarth. Doesn't give any more detail than that unfortunately although its probably on a map somewhere in the guide just haven't found it yet.

@Morilibus: Rout - Creatures and people up to level 20 flee from combat for 30 seconds

As a fellow mage I sympathise sir!

Lemme take a look.

All mage robes have an armor rating of 0. I don't see many enchanted rings - though I'm sure there are some - it would take too long to look through EVEYRTHING, but there are a few that give stat boosts. If all else fails, go to a jeweler and buy a ring and enchant it yourself! haha . A few enchanted amulets with stat boosts too, though nothing entirely defensive.

About the BEST robes ... couldn't say. Too many to compare :P

Thanks buddy! Appreciate the response. I guess I'll just have to power up my enchanting and make some hardcoe jewellery - would sounds pretty lame in any other walk of life...

Can we break down mage robes for the regain magika effect? Because if so then 50% Regen Magica on two heavy amour parts = never run out of mana and harder to kill. Add the two enchanment perk and we can throw in some other things like extra resist.

God I'm already thinking of ways to break the game. :flamethrower:

Yes, and you can probably get it even higher than 50%, considering that some robes have 75%. Using a grand or black soul gem, might have a lot of regen. Especially if you have +100% Enchanting and Extra Effect perks... ;)

No idea how true this is, but I've heard we can only wear one enchanted ring now. Just thought I'd let you know.

Yep, you should be able to do that, though I'd imagine you'd need a few perks in enchanting first to put 50% skill buffs on stuff.

Anyhow guys, I'm getting a headache, so i'm off to watch some tv, read the strategy guide from the beginning (haven't gone through it for myself yet :P ) and then turn in

Happy Skyrim-ing tomorrow to all of you and good luck! PM me if you want me to tell you a few more things when I wake up in the morning :P

@Morilibus: I cant seem to find anything specifically relating to whether you can attack with both daggers from sneak (I assume you can, although not in a power attack). However I do know that you can get enchants that double your sneak bonus dmg so you could have x30 dmg from daggers just from that if you have the perk as well.

@Nurufinwe: from what I can see not many rings, hoods etc have flat defense bonuses on them but you can always enchant them with whatever you want. As to the robes, there are a bunch that have really good magicka regen (the Master robes having +150% magicka regen which is pretty crazy. Hoods seem to have alot of +Magicka (eg: +50 magicka). Those are the standard robes, then you have all the unique robes which have various different enchantments.

Is it possible to summon a atronach and a zombie at same time with or without twin souls? Perk description only mentions summoning two atronachs or two zombies at a time.

What's differences between atronachs and zombies? And their stats if possible ^_^

Going for a pure mage and i must be sure of everything!

I know there is light armor that reduces cost in some magic schooll, but is there light armor that increases magicka regen??

Also does the wind walker perk in light armor boost stamina regen over the normal or just eliminate the light armor penaly??

THX!!

Per Gstaff -

With respect to the folks that worked on the guide (both at Bethesda and Prima)... we ask that you not post specifics from the guide here in the forums. Thanks for understanding.
