Haven't got past character creator! They are so ugly!

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 3:00 pm

Again, it's about having the option. No one is saying all characters should be young and pretty, just that without the option, the game is lacking something. Your ugly and brutish character looks just like all the other ugly, brutish characters out there. It's not a choice you made to play that kind of character, it's simply how the game is designed.

Aha! I see, okay. I'll be honest, my post was merely just a statement of little intent, I havn't got my copy yet (-.-!) and I have no idea how the Creation works in Skyrim. I had hoped the faces and creation would be much better looking/improved - will I be disapointed?

No, you will not be disappointed if you take your time in the face gen. I think it is implemented very well.

It's rugged and manly B3

I'm in the same situation as the op--unable to proceed past character creation as I can't make a character that I can stand to look at. I've yet to find a combination of features that looks at all passable out of the female models. Imperial and Breton women apparently do not exist under the age of forty anymore. Nord women have noses broader than most pigs I've seen. Elves now look like mutants, in the worst ways possible.

For the year in which it's been released, Skyrim's character creator is a joke. They have a slider for dirt, but nothing for nose width, eye tilt, or character height. Most of their options are pick-from-list types with no viable choices, leaving one to try to find the least off-putting of the bunch.

I've been a fan of the Elder Scrolls series since Daggerfall. Right now I'd like nothing more than to get into this game and play it, but it looks like I'm stuck waiting for mods that allow me the option of playing a decent looking heroine.

...or maybe the game is glitched right now to only offer male nose options for females. Maybe the complexion options that might make one look young enough to not fear the onset of alzheimer's more than the coming of dragons got lost somewhere during my Steam preload. I could hope that this is the case and that a patch is on it's way to save this game, can't I?

gamesas is sorry that they don't have anime cutesy faces with DD boob enhancers to meet your specifications. Here's an idea, shut up.

Your post is a joke. The nose and eyes both have sliders. The character height was never changeable in the creation menu for any of the creation menus since.. whenever. but if you want to change just console your [censored] and set the scale. God, I hate negative close-minded individuals.

It seems to me that if you get the hang of the face gen, you can create any face you want. I tweeked the hell out of my Breton female and she looks real as well as attractive.

Loved the Dirt slider, btw.

Your reading comprehension is a joke.

Sure, the eyes and nose have sliders, but not the sliders that I mentioned, which are pretty much standard fare in these types of character generators. The width of the nose is something that you cannot adjust, nor is the tilt of the eyes. As for height, no, it's never been included in an Elder Scrolls game, but it's becoming increasingly common in just about every game that lets one edit their own characters.

I, too, hate negative close minded people, especially when they are also morons. As these descriptors all apply to you, I hope with all my tiny black heart that you can feel my hatred flowing out to you through the internet. :icecream:

OP, I am very sorry so many flamed you because you expressed a dislike for something in the game. It's quite alright to express such things here. In fact I quite agree with you. I wasn't fond of the character creator either.

But since so many had the need to be rude and insulting, I'm going to close this thread through no fault of your own. I'm just sorry someone didn't report it earlier so we could have maybe saved your topic and gotten folks to lay off with the not so wise cracks.
