Hearthfire PS3 (DLC Issues)

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 2:40 pm

I'd really love to have Hearthfire on PS3, I'd love to have a pad for my Dragonborn. It would be awesome.

This is just a guess but... I'm guessing that Bethesda wil screw over PS3 users, again, with DLC. Hearthfire will be released for 360 and like Dawnguard, Bethesda will say nothing for a long time and then say that it can't be done, or that they're trying very hard. They announce new DLC, Hearthfire, for 360 again-which of course will probably never find it's way on to PS3 if we still haven't seen dawnguard months after it's initial release and have recieved inconclusive bad news regarding if it has any future on PS3 or not.

I'm very angry and disappointed with Bethesda. Bethesda asks for patience, but they don't deserve it anymore. They've screwed PS3 players over, and we've always been loyal despite the ridiculous amount of bugs in the games they release. Dirty business practices like exclusivity deals, intentional delays(not putting a strong team together to handle the PS3 issues and the deal with microsoft seems pretty deliberate to me), Inconclusive news(I'd rather just been given bad news than no news) All of this... is not a way Bethesda should treat their fans.

If PS3 users are never going to see any DLC, just say so Bethesda. Say that you've let us all down, say that you did it intentionally because you're in bed with Microsoft... And exclusivity DLC deals are a dirty business practice that puts the guys and gals at Beth in the same league with Electronic Arts.

So should I just trade in my copy of Skyrim now or what? I've already played through twice and if there is no more content coming my way I think I might as well get rid of this game even though I love playing it.

No Dawnguard, No Hearthfire, (Tonnes of bugs on the regular game though)... No reason for me to keep playing games made by Bethesda.

So all you other PS3 users: Don't get your hopes up.

I really think the moderators gave up with the Hearthfire General discussion.. There are like 50 threads about PS3 not getting equal rights.. Another 50 threads complaining about 3 house limits.. I would give up too if I were a mod.. "The Official board with no rules"

I think They will Release Hearthfire-Dawnguard Both at the same time.

And Also. if you have not noticed

Xbox has a 30-day Deal. so PC AND PS3 has to wait..

I doubt the two DLC packs would be released at the same time for the PS3, how many programmers do you think they want to tie up trying to get anything to work right on the PS3? And PS3 players are not waiting till next year to get Dawnguard. Release the one they finish first, then worry about getting Hearthfire to work. If Hearthfire for the PS3 turns up later than the PC version, at least it would be nothing unexpected.

That would require them to have programmers working on both PS3 versions at the same time, how likely is that? They seem to be doing the Xbox 360 version first, then porting it to the PC and PS3. And again why make PS3 players wait even longer for Dawnguard?

They have had long enough to get Dawnguard to work, they should not need yet another month to work on it. Hearthfire being smaller should mean it hopefully turns up as soon as the 30 day exclusive period is over, although I doubt that will happen.

Let's just hope they'll release Dawnguard and Heathfire (or with Hearthfire as an optional DLC) as a bundle with Hearthfire for free. That sounds pretty damn reasonable.
Either that or they'll release Hearthfire without too many hickups and PS3 users will get Dawnguard in the GotY edition.

So glad I switched to PC. Best money I've ever spent.

That's baloney. I was a mod on another board for 7 years (still am, but the board's pretty well dead), and I can tell you that you can't always deal with every infraction immediately. Sometimes you can't peruse every topic, especially on a board as heavily used as this one, and you have to sleep like everyone else does.

I don't always agree with our mods, but they seem competent enough.

you pretty much answered your own question. there's tons of bugs on the regular game so why would bethesda release dawnguard in the same state? also what do you mean no hearthfire? no one has hearthfire yet

You know what you should do? Take a stand by waiting until its released and still end up buying it anyway.

That'll learn 'em.

I think the reason Bethesda thinks that they can treat PS3 users like this is because 1) it's always been harder for Western Devs to program for the PS3, ok by harder I mean it's different but the 360 is much closer to the PC in terms of hardware so :/ , & 2) we have the smallest loyal group, alright some of the PC users complain but it evens out for them since they are the only ones with mods, but the 360? Could you imagine if Bethesda pulled the same [censored] but PS3 users got the 60 day exclusivity deal? the outcry from 360 users would probably be on par with the Mass Effect 3 ending fiasco (which still isn't quite over yet and has lost Bioware a good portion of their playerbase).

i have both systems
and the ps3 did not get oblivion right away either
although another company did that part [did the port]

the ps3 gets a lot of exclusives that the xbox 360
WILL NEVER get
thats why i have both systems

the ps3 got exclusive dsl for read dead redemption
that the xbox owners never got
and the ps3 is getting EXCLUSIVE dsl for assassins creed 3 that the
xbox owners will never get either
and these are just 2 examples

bethesda will give you dsl.. once the issues are worked out
it is not exclusive to the xbox 360
they just get to get the bugs worked out

Oh really? The simplest explanation is the PS3 is needlessly overcomplicated to develop for, and if anything, has been uncooperative with Bethesda's engines thus far. It wouldn't be unsurprising if it took even more months to get it working properly, and more to crush bugs. Basically Sony's system can't handle Skyrim as well as 360 and PC can (which are much easier to develop) and thats why your seeing extra delays on top of Microsofts's exclusive deal for DLC.

Where are these ps3 topics coming from? Didn't the 360 outsold the PS3 version 4:1? There should be a lot more topic about the content itself.
