Honestly I'm not enjoying Skyrim

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 8:08 am

This game just may not be your cup of tea - no crime or shame in that. If that's the case, just move on to something you do enjoy playing.

I may have run into the same thing with Civ V. I was all gung ho about playing it until I beat it for the first time. Now I have no interest in playing it, so I don't. I may one day decide to pick it up again and try another victory path, but if I don't, oh well.

Life's too short to waste time playing games you don't like. :)

Sounds like the OP made a point, was politely told another opinion, got incredibly butthurt that not everybody embraced his opinion, went to IGN forums to complain about his first world problems, rallied a bunch of [censored] from Vestibule (who have self-proclaimed themselves super trolls), then brought them over to make more comments in the Skyrim forums.

Oh wait, that's exactly what happened.

That is rather sad. OP you should respect others opinions, even if they differ from yours.

You know... Skyrim was so fun that before even finishing it I picked up Saints Row 3 then finished that game.

PS. That perk idea is a smart move.

If you played any Call of Duty game you know thats not true, its not the same game there are always new weapons and perks. It also has one of the best online community out there. I chose Skyrim over it because of all the hype, now I know that was a mistake.

What are you smoking?
Just because it has new weapons and perks does not make it a new game... You basically proved my point, right there, with that response.
Take old game
Give it a paint job
Market it as a new game *ooooh shiny new perk!*
Profit~

Btw, COD has one of the worse communitys, ever.

Glad you could share with all of us how much you hate the game. Honestly, Skyrim was either a hit or miss with people, some people, who have never seen or played any of the previous games have seen the trailers and expected it to be outstanding and impress everyone. I will admit, skyrim does have its flaws, with its glitches and svcky magic system, but it is still a great game. So go back to playing MW3 or whatever, stop spamming the threads with "I hate skyrim, i want my money back".

you guys defending Skyrim need to pull your head out of Bethesdas *** and be real for a second, sure its a great game in theory, but they executed it so terribly that im having a hard time getting immersed in it, its like they thought they could just impress us with a nice map and weather effects and flowing water, without addressing most of the things they should have been working on, im considering just going back to Oblivion or waiting for TESVI, either that or there better be a [censored] world-altering patch coming out to fix this abomination of a game

And this leads on to the number 1 reason to get TES games on a PC, User-Mods. When the construction set is out and people are making mods then you can can change the game or add user-generated content. Currently I'm pondering how it will work because in my opinion Skyrim has ALOT of focus on VO and naturally user-made mods aren't really going to have that... else wise it should be good. I'm finding Skyrim a good game overall but there are certainly areas it could have been better in... however at the end of the day not everybody prefers vanilla ice cream over chocolate ice cream.

I'm currently playing a mage to see how I can make a mod to fix some of the magic issues that the game has, when the official construction set comes out.

For anyone not enjoying the game (for a variety of reasons), come back in about six months to see how much it has changed thanks to the modding community and future patches. Go enjoy Arkham City or some other new game. Skyrim will improve with time.

Ah well. :) All I can say is, if you got PC, wait for mods. They can customize out a lot of things that bug you, such as combat.

I haven't had the real-life time yet to get Skyrim, but you do worry me a little when you speak of dragons. What you say matches exactly what I felt about Oblivion's gates. First one is awesome and scary, but so many to close... Gets sadly a sort of chore.

It's pretty disappointing but I wouldn't say that it's "bad." The quests just need to be more substantial (every guild pretty much svcks), the voice acting needs to be better, graphics need much improvement, and the animation and gameplay need some serious tweaking. Yeah, it's not a perfect game -- maybe not even a great game, but I don't think that it's a bad game at all. Just not as revolutionary as we all had hoped.

Damn man 27 hours is a long time to play a game and not enjoy it. Don't you have better things to do than play a game you don't enjoy

Replies like this always make me laugh. It's like you can't possibly understand that people that are playing games that they are not having fun with are simply trying to give it a chance, and then another chance and then another, hoping that the game will eventually open up into something good. If you've never played any games where the beginning or end were much worse than another part, then you've not played many games.

how is op trolling, fact of the matter is, Skyrim is a broken down game and imo id even say it svcks, I guess this board doesnt beleive in honest opinions if they are opposed to the Godlike Bethesda products, here I was thinking I was going to start a fine career on this forum and become 'on of the boys' but you guys are all too far down bethesdas throat to accept that this game has ridiculous flaws

Successful troll is successful.

In an alternate reality, where not a SINGLE reply was made to this thread, this poor neck-bearded fool would have trotted off in a huff---and we'd all be playing Skyrim like nothing ever happened.

The fact that MW3 was used as a counter argument to Skyrim is reason enough to completely ignore this guy. The two games can't even be compared; but here, I'll humor you.

MW3 was in development for what, 6 months? Skyrim was in development for over 5 years. Tell me, OP, how many voice actors were used in MW3? How many different weapons/items are there? How many maps? Combine ALL of those things, and you wouldn't even scratch the surface in comparison to Skyrim. There are literally THOUSANDS of obtainable and view-able items in Skyrim, the map itself is over 14 square miles, there are over 150 discover-able handcrafted locations, and there are over 40 voice actors. So, please, enlighten me as to how these games are comparable? What, gameplay-wise? Pft... entirely separate genres.

I know everyone in this thread has said this already---but if you don't like the game, get the hell out of here. We get it, some people don't like the game. That doesn't mean you can be completely opinionated and expect us to bend over and take it. If you want attention so badly, let me help you out:

1. Find a freeway.
2. Walk into the middle of it.
3. ???
4. Profit.

Opinions get you bashed at, then you are trolled repeatedly, then infracted, then banned if someone has a corn cob stuck up in their ass that day.
