HousingGuild Housing

I would love housing like UO...*drools after remembering place a Castle outside Ice dungeon entrance* but it would never happen due to the megaserver idea :( so sad Just wouldnt be enough land for everyone to have a house...yet alone all guilds to have a guild hall.

Honestly due to the best housing plan being unavailable the next best would be instances. But there are good ways to instance housing and bad ways. DAoC was BAD (imo). All houses looked like clones, the areas were almost identical and telling one persons house apart from anothers was like trying to figure out the difference between two pieces of stray (on the outside). I do foresee housing coming in a content patch or an expansion but we can only hope its done right at this point.

Not true. The instancing is your impact on the world, but only you can see it. Thus instanced housing can give you that effect. That said, the game world is not set up to be able to build where ever you want.

So you preder a dead world outside the last expantion area?

And instanst housing will not give that effect.

No no one have sed anything about to be able to build everywher, but to build in specific areas and spec spots spred out in the map and town/vilages.

Its a werry important to have open world housing to give the dead npc areas life, to the trade and crafting + gatering tides to youre guild hubs. And hopfuly that you need to be in yore guild′s crafting hut to do hilevel crafting.

Out of all the MMORPG's that I have played that had player housing, I think LOTRO did it the best, they had instanced neighboorhoods. Each neighboorhood if I remember correctly had 7 houses total, one guild house, two small houses and two medium houses and two large houses. It was one huge area, lots of room, lots of land and so much decoration for either your yard/house. If you wanted to visit somebodys home you could. You can go join a random neighboorhood and see the persons house and go inside if they don't lock the door, it was really cool.

Rift had a good housing system too, the possibilities seemed endless in that game.

Not sure how ESO is going to do it, I'm pretty sure it will be instanced though. There wouldn't be enough room out in the world if everybody just put their houses in random areas. They could have a house out in the world but it would have to be instanced to each person. I would hope it's like Skyrim, a house in a major city and a house out in the world somewhere. No idea if we'll be able to have more than one house though, I have heard nothing about it.
