How did you get your screenname?

Post » Tue Sep 13, 2011 7:34 pm

Im going to honestly say that when I came up with mine, I had never heard of the Starforce DRM.

I was playing a Star Wars game for one of the first times and it asked me for a name for my account. Starforce just sounded cool at the time, and I believe I was 9. Ever since then I use it on most of my accounts throughout the internet, or some variation of it.

I don't know... It was something from like 5th grade and it is really fuzzy... also, it is my Xbox LIVE gamertag and I use it everywhere since then. anything before that I made up a different one and by the end of a month, I had over 20 different accounts of different usernames. most of which I still remember.

Septiego's a character in a favorite game of mine. I suppose I wasn't original to come up with something on my own, or cool enough to use my real name on a video game forum.

I was eight or nine, and I got banned (spamming) from the Gamefaqs forums under some obviously Morrowind-inspired username (Ordinator something). So I signed up again under a less-obviously Morrowind inspired username: MinotaurWarrior (abbreviated MW).

http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/292669-sacrifice-windows-screenshot-the-hellmouth-my-favorite-creature.png. Since then, it became my SN for a shadow knight in EQ, an undead rogue in WoW, and my username in general, save for a few instances that someone else took it, thinking they're that [censored] vampire from Buffy :banghead:

It's also a name I wouldn't hate later in life.

Back in the days of Call of Duty 1 on PC, I would play custom games with my friends, and I was always on the Soviet side. Halfway through the game I would start shooting at my friends on my team and they started calling me Rogue Soviet. I added the underscore and the alternating capitalization for flare.

I only assumed, because that's what shows up every time I try to look for that screeny I liked (some Buffy vamp), and I have been asked if that's where I got the name from.

Just my extended initials, and people can be fooled to think it's an acronym or a word :hehe:

In my early internet days i was "Zro", because Sub-Zero was my favorite Mortal Kombat character and games back then usually allowed only three characters in high score lists ^_^

One of these days I'm going to break down and beg a mod to let me change it.

Mine's based off of Pharaoh Seti I (although there was a Seti II in the same dynasty) of the Egypt's nineteenth dynasty and a random number I had to pick (one of my favorite numbers, actually... and for no good reason. I just like the number... and it's not because it's the age one becomes an advlt, it's just because I like the number ) because just plain "Seti" was already taken... obviously not by a well-used account as I'm the only "Seti" -anything I've seen on these forums in the two years I've been here, but... I'd have preferred to just be a plain "Seti".

Wyatt Earp + Karma title in FO3. I played a cowboy character modeled after him as soon as I figured out that you could play as a cowboy.

As a kid in computers class in school before I even had my own PC I needed to create a username and I thought my own name was a little lame but I wanted something close to it so I ended up with Ellert, in half with the 1st, 2nd and 5th letter it's my own name and in half with the 3rd, 4th and 6th letter it is not, yet at the same time it is also a legit name and even one that could commonly be used in countries where English is the 1st language. The username just ended up growing on me.

In most places I go by Ellert0 but for some reason I decided not to do that for these forums.

Mine is a reference to a movie.
Before my email screwed me, I was AVanguard, short for AvauntVanguard, which was taken here or something.
Before THAT, on ye Olde forums, I was Hemotep. My "sounded cool at the time" character in Morrowind, when I was a youngling.

Each re-registry was because my email was either outdated or otherwise unattainable.

An alien RP Ive had since Fallout 1. By the time of the newer Fallouts, he ended up looking like an orange Orson Welles with a blue pompadour. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb319/joniscrazy/fafa.jpg

I was younger then and ended using it as my screen name from another site much to my regret. Really should have done something like Ibram Cain instead.

My name starts with the letter 'J', I'm a fan of the 40k (Warhammer 40k) works of fiction, and was 16 at the time. Had it not been for the problems of losing post count I would have made a new account a while back.
