How did you get your screenname?

Post » Tue Sep 13, 2011 11:31 pm

Several years ago during my adventures in playing Warcraft III, this is what happened. I was waiting in a lobby and people were saying stuff, then talking about ages, and my old old name was "bradbad94" so he said my name was Brad and I was...I think he said 14 when he said it. Though I was 13, I remember my parents saying stuff about don't give away your age so I thought it was time to make a new account that people couldn't guess my identity.

So then I sat and sat thinking of stuff for names. Then I'm just sitting there thinking of words that start with the same letter...Alliterations. I eventually started using animals and stuff, like krazykangaroo. Then I said Wonder and I thought that it sounded good, but what animal starts with a W, I think I thought of Walrus and maybe something else.

But then I remember being a die hard yugioh fan then so I knew quite a few of the cards, one being DesWombat and then I put them together and got WonderWombat. After doing so I simply a the in the front.

Don't worry that isn't all. I just made this to play Warcraft III. But then people kept saying wonderwombat, that is an awesome name, and I felt so happy and stuff. I think I forgot about it for a year or two, but then changed my name on some Lego website for the same purpose cause I had my full name on there, so I changed it to WonderWombat.

Now, on how it got to W0NDERW0MBAT. A year ago I made my Xbox Live account, and of course I choose WonderWombat. First TheWonderWombat was taken, the THEWONDERWOMBAT was taken so I made WONDERWOMBAT. Too bad after I did that I made the account under 18, so I had restrictions.... Then I made another called W0NDERW0MBAT (notice the zeros) and that is how it has gotten to where it is today.

Thank you for your time.

I do a bit of RC Airplane flying, and the Fokker Eindecker is a popular modeling subject from the "Golden Age" of flight, so I've seen and heard the name bounced around quite a bit in magazines, at fun flies, etc. I just liked the sound of it, used it for a couple character's names in games, and then started using it as a screen name online. Since then, I've gotten quite used to hearing people call be by my PSN id online and such, so I don't think I'll be using any other name for as long as I can help it... and it helps to have a bit of an obscure name. The only place It's ever not been available to me is on a very large RC forum.

German translation of eindecker:
Monoplane (aviation)
Single decker bus (transport)

Comes from the most prominent part of my initials: two R's. Double R became Doubler when I went online.

Its what I want every, single, person in this forum to do.

No, Seriously.

Even me old buddy. :cryvaultboy:

Well, a few years back in Grade 7 and 8 a kid started calling me the King of the Mice, or the Mouse King because I was short. It stuck and so I used it. I use it for most usernames and for PSN and stuff now.

I've never been one to pick good screen names and this was just the first thing that came to mind when signing up, having previously been watching Futurama.

Brannigan: "Leela! My sweet. I've come to save you! I have a devious plan."
Leela: "Oh, great... Captain Moron has a plan. Why don't you tell it to Wingus and Dingus here?"
Brannigan: *turns to Bender & Fry* "Wingus, Dingus, listen up. We're going to give the aliens the ol' switcheroo."
Fry: "You mean..."
Brannigan: "Correct! I've found a giant hideous ape that looks exactly like Leela."

The name I've been using everywhere for a few years now, Paradox me, was just sort of random.

I chose mine from the Fallout New Vegas DLC Old World Blues just because I loved the humour in it so much.

My other account is Capital, which I haven't got back yet, so I made this one. Why I chose Capital as a username is a mystery, maybe because I like money and how capital letters look. I don't know.

The first multi-player game I really got into was Return to Castle Wolfenstein. An acquaintance set me up with a name called I-M nübee, in other words "I am a nOOb". Well I quickly got good at that game, but hadn't come up with a new name. It cracked me up to frequently fight people and have them say "Hey! You're not a noob!" So the name sort of stuck. I use I-M nUbee and just nUbee interchangeably. I changed the ü to U since most sites don't allow using an umlaut.

My name dates back to 2003. I was reading http://www.lukuhetki.fi/tuotekuvat/image15726.jpg and I picked up some random name there and twisted it for my character name for some RPG I don't recall right now.

Yeah, it had nothing to do with Sauron. :P
Seriously.
