How do you feel about unique weaponsarmours?

So how do you guys feel about video games and unique armours and weapons?

For me personally, it varies, take games like New Vegas, I'm not so big on unique weapons, but I will hoarde unique clothes for roleplaying and giggles.

Anywho, what's your take on them? Love them? Hate them? Date them? Tell us here.

I usually tend to hoard them, with either the intention of using them at some point or putting them on display.

I never do.

Recently, at least, I've just been selling/dropping them, then, if they're not required at some other point.

I collect them all and use the one that I think looks the coolest.

In Oblivion and Fallout 3, it was all about finding every last piece of the rarities and put them on display. For me, it's an excuse to to extensively explore.

I never ever sell them, it's my rule. They usually get dumped into the loot chest for all eternity.

Survivalist's Rifle, Annabelle, Lucky, Blood Nap (even though the only thing unique about are the bonuses it provides), my soul mates. I tend to hoard them and put them up on display, only using the ones fitting my skill set.

I definitely hoard them. And I'll usually go out of my way to find and collect them, even if I'll never use them.

The more the better.

Unique items in general often give a lot of incentive to explore, complete tasks/quests, save up virtual money, etc. They also offer more ways to express your character.

Even if I don't plan on using them, I still like to hoard.

I love them as long as they aren't incredibly over-the-top more useful compared to their non-unique counterparts. An example in New Vegas is with the Hunting Rifle and Paciencia. Paciencia is more powerful, but has a smaller magazine and no scope attachment. I like that kind of balance.

I'd have to say that Lucky from New Vegas is one of my favourite unique weapons in any game.

I hoard any unique thing I find.

After all... if I sell it, I'll never get it back when the stores reset.

Using it with fast shot, rapid reload, quick draw and cowboy is just orgismic.

Did I forgot to mention the Desert Ranger Armor and helmet (the one The Survivalist wore)? It is just so much fun to run around with "FORGIVE ME MAMA" written on your forehead.

Of course I pick up unique stuff, but I mostly do it just for the sake of it. I may never touch it again, but it's unique so I can't let someone else have something I haven't got.

If they are better than what I currently have, I use them until I find something better, then either display them or put them in a container with other unique items.
I could never sell an Artifact or unique item.

My current favorite is the Volendrung hammer in Skyrim...I used it for a while until I found a glass war hammer then gave Volendrung to Mjoll the Lioness because it's cool to watch her use it.

Same as most people. i just hoard them and never use most of them. However I do change outfits often to simulate my character RP and changing. Then try to construct new ones to create a new aesthetic.

I collect them and put them in a place like a locker, just to look at them. Fallout Tactics has alot of unique weapons, and everytime I play it, I can't help but collect them all. I try to get one of every possible item in the game. I do what with all Fallout games.

I'm just now getting back into New Vegas because I purchased the UE. Man, this game is full of unique weapons and armor. Whenever I find something special I keep it for sure. Then I tend to overload myself to the point where I have to drop things or store things away.

I love to have lots of unique gear to choose from. This is one way you can express your character, through his or her choice of gear.

That said, I'm not a hoarder. I may choose what I think looks best, or I may go for the best stats, but I rarely save anything unless I have a specific use for it in mind. I may have hoarded some stuff when I played Morrowind, because you never knew what might be a quest item later, but later Bethesda games solved that problem by marking quest items. Maybe this is why some of the appeal of TES is lost on me. Aside from a container to store my crating materials, I don't need all the display cases and armor mannequins and such. If I don't have a use for it, I sell it.

They are merely weapons and armor with fancy names. I judge them by their stats and appearance. If it does not please me then I throw it away.

I have a similar attitude toward unique items in RPG games, I really don't care for the statistical advantage, but if that [censored] makes me look fabulous I'm wearing it.

For example, favourite power armour/head gear combo in FO:NV is probably the remnants power armour with a desert ranger helm. Or in FO3 I played through the entire game in a business suit and a hat just because I looked sharp.

The advantage of Skyrim is of course that since I can upgrade low level gear, I pretty much get to pick whatever armour I want to wear because I find it visually appealing, but I still dont lose out on the defensive stats.

I think my attitude toward unique items wouldn't go down too well in some MMO's. Looking fabulous just doesn't seem to be enough. I miss SWG.

I haven't really played it enough to see anything other than the Saviours Hide and Archmage robes. Saviours hide looks bad ass until you notice it's a dress.
