My Husband and I Have a Date Night Bet

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 5:24 pm

Yep that sounds about right.

He's been engrossed in it every spare minuet since he brought it home last night, seriously an all female naked parade could march in front of him now and he'd likely shout at them to get the F out the way of the TV.
Hey if i'm playing Skyrim and that happened i would yell at them lol.

There's a slight chance it may come the day before... unfortunately you may lose due to a technicality, since it wouldn't have arrived ON 11//11/11. :sadvaultboy:

My wife plays big RPGs as well. I got her into them first with Oblivion, and then with DA:O.

With only one PC, however, there is going to be a lot of squabbling for playtime.

Ok well I am as pumped as anyone here about skyrim.

Although their comes a time when Skyrim is NOT the most important thing in the world

and being in front of a naked female parade is one of those.

When you win your'e bet make him take you somewhere upscale!!

I've had Skyrim pre-ordered from Amazon since July. I've paid to have it delivered on release date. I'm guessing Amazon uses UPS or Fedex since the regular mail probably won't run that day, being Veterans Day and all.

So unless the mailman steals my copy, Skyrim will be at my door on 11/11/11. My husband thinks there's no way that it will arrive on its delivery/release date, so we've made a bet. The loser pays for dinner at the winner's favorite restaurant. So, assuming Skyrim does arrive this Friday, I will enjoy an excellent dinner in addition to an excellent game :)

Your husband already won for having a wife who plays Skyrim ;)

I've never had Amazon miss their release day delivery.

My friend had it happen once (got it the next day) but one email complaint later they gave him a $20 credit.

Oops, forgot to mention, I'm female. (Why are girl gamers seemingly such a rarity out there?)

Hubby doesn't play any video games at all, but he knows I've been counting down the days to Skyrim like a prisoner counting down their release date :D He is threatening to cancel my order just so he can win, but I told him I'd beat him with a fishy stick if he tried it.

Sadly, he didn't get the reference... *shrug* :)

Aw! Look at us gamers, being socially aware and politically correct :celebration:

I feel the same way. But although we may be few, we are still mighty :toughninja:

Yeah, my girlfriend is not into games at ALL. Unless Little Big Planet counts :shakehead: But she does support my love of TES. Her tolerance is an admirable quality.

Make the reservations. They use UPS Overnight (or two day) and I have never had a release day delivery not show up on release day when I ordered from Amazon.

I was having doubts, and this made me feel a lot better.

Thanks! :D

My wife isn't a gamer at all, so I too have to wait until the wife and kids are at daycare or asleep...

How is it that all us gamers ended up marrying/dating someone who's not into them at all (usually?)

One question: Why are you going out for dinner if you've got Skyrim at home?
I guess he could pay to have something delivered...

True! except for the basemant part,

around my area it'd be a miracle to find a girl with similar nerdy values, but all females here are too busy spending like 30 hours in front of the mirror, or if they do like games they're also most likely a Druggie O.o

Sad ._.

My whole family , my wife , 4 kids and myself all play TES. We'll have to see Skyrim in action before we let the "little one" (11 year old) play though. Sounds likely she might have to stick with Oblivion/Morrowind but we'll see.
