My Husband and I Have a Date Night Bet

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 2:06 am

I've had Skyrim pre-ordered from Amazon since July. I've paid to have it delivered on release date. I'm guessing Amazon uses UPS or Fedex since the regular mail probably won't run that day, being Veterans Day and all.

So unless the mailman steals my copy, Skyrim will be at my door on 11/11/11. My husband thinks there's no way that it will arrive on its delivery/release date, so we've made a bet. The loser pays for dinner at the winner's favorite restaurant. So, assuming Skyrim does arrive this Friday, I will enjoy an excellent dinner in addition to an excellent game :)

My experience with pre-orders from Amazon has been pretty positive. They do use UPS or Fedex, or a company called ONTAC if you live in Oregon, Washingon, Idaho, California or Nevada (and maybe a couple other states in that area) occasionally. I've had overnight shipping from each company with success. I live in Oregon.

Make the reservations. They use UPS Overnight (or two day) and I have never had a release day delivery not show up on release day when I ordered from Amazon.

ONTAK is also used in AZ, I got my CPU this way through Amazon. And the OP will win the bet cause if retailers are already selling them in the Netherlands now, than how could US retailers not have them?

Yep that sounds about right.

He's been engrossed in it every spare minuet since he brought it home last night, seriously an all female naked parade could march in front of him now and he'd likely shout at them to get the F out the way of the TV.

Every time I've selected release day shipping from amazon, it's on my doorstep around lunch time on release day. Like the others said, you can start making plans now :)

UPS and Fedex deliver to my house between 12 and 1 for me, while ONTRAC delivers closer to 10AM.

REALLY hoping ONTRAC delivers my game this Friday. The earlier the better :P
