*Sigh*
I don't have a 360, and I think Kinect is a gimmicky waste of time that would work a lot better as a football than it does as a control input. But I seem to be able to do what a lot of you idiots can't, think for five damn minutes. Let me queue up a few ideas for you below, hopefully some of you will figure out how to keep your damned ungrateful traps shut afterwards because of it:
- This marks the second update to Skyrim where Bethesda have added Gamejam content to the game. Just because it isn't content you can use or that you don't like doesn't entitle you to whine about it when it's completely free.
- Just because Beth haven't mentioned bug fixes in the announcement for this features inclusion in the form of a patch doesn't mean there won't be any bug fixes with it. (They could be finalising the list of fixes before release)
- Gamejam content. For free. I couldn't really make it more obvious if I tried.
- If Beth are adding these features from the GAMEJAM, which it will now have done TWICE, for FREE. Then if you really think for two seconds about it, doesn't that mean we could see more?
- Bethesda have a timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft for the expansions. Who knows what goes on in the background at Beth HQ? Maybe this wasn't something they wanted to add so soon. Perhaps they might be making money off of doing this via another deal. Which if you think about it would mean they're making money without having to charge us anything.
- The above point is very important. At the end of the day, games are made to make money, there is very little standing in the way of us having to pay for this content and get it for free. There is also no way of knowing when they'll stop patching it in for free and start charging us, if they ever do. Enjoy this while it lasts, even if you don't like what they add.
- Bethesda don't owe us anything, if you're playing or you've played Skyrim, that most likely means you've purchased it. They already have our money, that's all they wanted and they got it the day you bought the game. They could easily have said 'Nope, [censored] you' and not bothered to patch the game at all and there would've been nothing we could have done about it, by the time we'd have realised patches weren't coming it would have become impossible to return the game for a refund. http://www.vgcats.com/comics/images/120318.jpg
- They are actually supporting the game, not just fixing mistakes but adding content as well. How many developers do that if the game isn't an MMO?
- Just because it isn't what you want, just because you don't like it and just because you won't stop [censored]ing about the fact on a forum, doesn't mean Beth are going to release what you want any faster. Be grateful free content is being added at all.
- If you actually want to see the content you desire added to the game. Stop [censored] complaining, people tend to have little tolerance for ingratitude.
- They're making an effort. Beth are fixing mistakes and adding new content, they are trying to make Skyrim even better than it already is. Instead of shooting them down at every turn how about actually being mature about it for five minutes and accepting that the effort they're making is in itself something to be grateful for. There are plenty of developers that just wouldn't care.
In short: A little less complaining would probably help actually get what you want added to the game. Bethesda are supporting Skyrim, how about you guys start supporting Bethesda and showing them we're actually worth the effort.
Since honestly, at this stage, I don't think we are.
To Bethesda: I have my issues with Skyrim, I have my complaints, my problems, my peeves and my hates. And like the rest of the community I have things I want in the game, but I am patient, and I will wait.
Fixing bugs, adding new content and restoring Elder Scrolls to its former glory; Well, heh, that takes time... even for Bethesda.
(Flaming removed. What flaming? XD)
