Yep. I know they made a conscious decision not to have visible legs, but why is Corvo holding his hands in front of his face all the time? Even when running, jumping and climbing? This classic FPS hand position kind of looks dated, as far as I remember even Thief didn't use it. And what's the point in showing his empty left hand all the time, is there some visual representation of what power is selected? Even more so with the right - it's not like you have any other weapons except the sword for your right hand, right? I'm not saying it breaks the game or anything, but it detracts from the immersiveness everyone is trying to emphasize.
The hands are an indicator of what you have equiped. And in Thief when you selencted a weapon your right and sometimes left hand was visible. I really don't see how seeing your arms is distracting you from the immersion. It's a personal prefrence thing in this case but the arms are done really well. The animations and the dual-wield is really good and I like them a lot.
I think that you'd like if it was the same as Thief, am I reading that right? I guess it could be done but keep in mind that Thief is a slow game. You can playtrough a level without using any equipment whatsoever (well some of them, not all). Dishonored is much faster and shows after awhile what a role the arms play.
And I really don't think that it looks dated. If people don't like them that much I guess there could be an option not to show them. It's personal prefrence after all. This actually brings up a point I wanted to discuss before. Developers really need to put console usage in more PC games and yes more modding tools. But Dishonored really doesn't need it. I am still in awe at how well it's holding up. And like I said before these little nit picks won't ruin your experience of the game.
