[Relz] Kragenir's Death Quest 2.01 (Thread 9)

Post » Thu Apr 28, 2011 10:39 pm

It seems I'm an idiot I can not find the right place to go in the "Lee Lines" quest, I'm sure I've been to every cave, fort and ruin between the cave and Culotte but I've had to luck find any treasure or a pop up message or anything and its driving me bats, any help would be appreciated.

Never mind I missed the note on the table, see I knew I was an Idiot :banghead:

Enhanced Economy. The fact that you don't even know what it is means that it's probably not that mod causing it. :P

that's exactly why I asked

Are you doing anything with "the Order"?

any chance to see another translation from you? :hubbahubba:

Nope.

I'm working with the Andoran team (Russian mod) to help translate their mod. I had problems with not being able to see Cyrillic (stupid Windows bugs), but we've found a workaround.

I'm going through the main quest again. I have Wellspring Vale installed. Everything works perfectly for Little Red and the wolves. Nice to see no conflict between those two mods.

Is it possible for you to make for the next version a merged patch for the UL? Leave the separate esp's and add a merged one for who has all the UL installed, but needs fewer esp's in their load order, like me :).

Ok.... so I am absolutely loving this mod, however, I am unfortunately a completionist. lol. I can't seem to figure out how to pick up 'The Serpent Project.' I have yet to get another rumor that starts that quest. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. :)

You have to either find one of the chapters in a cave (they can be found from the start); or

Spoiler
talk to one of the guards in IC Arboretum. He'll direct you to Paulus Switchius, who's the questgiver.

That info is in the spoiler file, BTW. :)

I've got a question about the Rat Clubber: Is it designed to work against all rats, or one rat only? I acquired it yesterday and decided to try it out against some rats in the IC Sewers (I was down there looking for a gem for one of EE's merchant quests) and it didn't do anything beyond bash the rats.

Hey Povuholo,

I got bit by a bug that got someone else (I forget who) in this forum: with version 2.01, the claim-your-reward topic does not show for 'Killing the Queen'; neither Weebam-Na nor Bejeen has it.

I want to upgrade to version 2.03, but am not certain whether I found all the rats, and want to hold off on turning in that quest. What is the proper installation procedure in this case?

Thanks,
Asterai

You can install the update, no clean save required or anything. From what I remember it shouldn't cause any problems with the quest so if you want you can continue looking for rats after updating, or claim the reward at any time.

It only works on vanilla rats, I saw no way to detect rats in general. Not without OBSE anyway. So it can only be used to kill vanilla rats and those from the Leyawiin quest unfortunately.

I was wondering this myself...is there a quest associated with it, like there was with the toy sabre? Since it's flagged as a quest item for me. Or do I just need to start whacking rats with it? :P

Oh. :( I use Reneer's Creature Mod, which makes rats (among other things) nonhostile. Ah well... I'll just toss it on a display shelf somewhere. :)

I am still figuring out the Lee Lines quest. I did manage to give the dog a bone.

As far as finding sunbird feathers goes, is it possible to actually find one in game or do I have to run around doing all that work for the

So glad I spotted this thread, I honestly wasn't going to add anything else to my current game, but the words "mini LGNPC" in the description of the mod exerted such power over me that before I quite knew what I was doing it was downloaded and installed.

I haven't got very far into the main quest yet but I have already picked up so many new quests that I'm spoilt for choice, and I'm actually stopping to talk to NPCs now which is something I haven't done since the first time I played vanilla Oblivion. Great work, thanks!

Just a quick note to let you know of something slightly confusing (although not your fault!) in the main quest - in dialogue and in my journal I was asked to find a perfect topaz (it's worded the same in the walkthrough), but the gem he accepted was a flawless topaz. This wouldn't have been an issue and would probably have made sense in the first place were it not for the fact that I have both flawless and perfect gems in my game - I think the perfect ones are added by MMM or the gems and gemdust plugin that is bundled with it. Took me a while to figure that one out, might be worth putting a note in the walkthrough for MMM/gemdust users to save people wrongly assuming that they've hit a bug.

Also while I'm here, a quick query - I came across a book called something along the lines of The Secret of Kvatch and while reading it was given an option to accept or refuse the quest. Because of the reference to Kvatch, I didn't accept it because I wasn't sure if it would be an issue that I am using Kvatch Rebuilt (which if you're not familiar with it does exactly what the title suggests, and the rebuilding starts before the vanilla MQ is completed) - if your quest requires a visit to ruined Kvatch then it won't be possible in my game and I'd rather not start the quest. Sorry about being so verbose, my question is will there likely be a conflict? If not I'll run back and accept the quest!

Just loaded this up for the first time and I must say I'm having a hoot of a time so far :) I know you said it was funny, but it's true! I couldn't resist choosing the "I run away" option when talking to the first guy. Loved his reaction... I loaded this pretty late in my game (I'm level 24), so it will be interesting to see how it handles that. I've already completed the main quest and all of the guild quests (at least the ones I'm going to complete anyway - not finishing the MG). I've also got Kvatch Rebuilt and that one is done now too, so I have a similiar question as the previous poster (wondering about conflicts). Still working on Brotherhood Renewed. Almost done Lost Spires. No overhauls for me.

So if I run into anything, I'll let you know, but this looks like it's going to be a lot of fun - and long! I wanted to play the game until I maxed all my skills and attributes and I think I'll be able to now - thank you!!

Thanks for the heads up, I'll be sure to replace the word perfect with flawless there.

The quest related to the book of Secret of Kvatch, which is called The One Ring, actually has nothing to do with Kvatch, so there shouldn't be any conflicts there. This quest is sort of optional because it requires you to complete the main quest, all faction quest lines, become a vampire and get cured, do all daedric shrine quests and some other things before it can be done. It's more of a fun little extra if you intend to do all that stuff already.

Nope.

I think I posted somewhat detailed directions at some point when someone else asked, I'll see if I can find it back.

Thanks for your response, I am now intrigued. I have never done all the daedric quests nor been a vampire - I keep meaning to but never quite get around to it, and this could be the spur I need to try those things for the first time. Much like your other quests have sent me to vanilla locations that I have run past but never explored, and made me speak to people in villages that I have previously had no dealings with. I am having a lot of fun playing through the main quest, it's really well written and imaginative.

Question on Vamp Rising. Not looking for a cheat or work-around, not unless what I report is abnormal and quest breaking. Prolly just me being my normal confused self and not understanding or overlooking something.

Spoiler
I'm at the point where we have to collect the ... ummm... 3rd? set of objects. The set where one object is at Moths Temple. I got that one fine. It's the other one I'm confused on. The journal clue mentions something about a tough lich in the cave just behind Roxie Inn. Indeed, I get a green quest arrow-marker at the cave entrance. Only, as I approach the cave the marker vanishes. I saw nothing obvious near the door so assumed the object in question was on a lich somewhere inside. I cleared out the cave, including killing two liches in the "room" furthest back into the caves. Neither carried a special object. Nor did I notice any special objects lying nearby.

Don't know if it matters, but I had already cleaned out the cave once, for the official Roxie vanilla cave quest.

Oh, upon leaving the cave and heading for the Inn, the green marker returns, but again vanishes when if I again attempt the cave.

Gonna try again and see if maybe I just overlooked some weapon that dropped during those final battles.

Trying to finish up "Party time" the Orc social club quest in Skingrad to give you some info if there is a slowdown when I get to deliver the invitations.

1. I went to David Surrili to get the wine - he was dead.
2. Tried POVNpcFix - still dead :P
3. Resurrected him to get the deal and the quest updated.
4. I think Glarthir killed him - I tried an other tack on the quest and he killed David.
EDIT - Also the Shepard was dead. I used his refID to resurrect him. Same here with POVNpcFix? END EDIT
5. The quest does not break even when NPC's are dead...

I have been thinking of just additem for the BitterAloe, will I break something if I do that?

Cheers!

Man I am soooo bad at these things :) Could you please provide some hints for the Lee Lines quest? I've spoken to everybody in Pell's Gate but can't figure out where to go from there. My journal only says to talk to everybody in Pell's Gate and I've done that already - twice. I tried looking in a couple of other "desolate" inns, but nadda. I need more clues than this, I'm afraid.

Could be, you'd miss a journal entry.

http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/3439/aloeshelp.jpg. On the left you see Fort Istirus, on the right a rock I selected. There's a dead NPC with the aloes lying next to it.

The desolated Inn is the Inn of Ill Omen. Once you enter it a quest marker should point towards a letter in the Inn. It's on a table. Combining what you read in that letter with the previous journal entries should make it clear which dungeon this is about. The moment you enter the right cave you'll get a pop up to confirm that you're in the right one.

5. The quest does not break even when NPC's are dead...

There are so many vanilla NPCs used it would take tons of hours to implement something to keep track of everything. It would also be pretty difficult to detect. Unless I'd add a script to 90% of the vanilla NPCs that closes relevant quests when they die. :P

1. I went to David Surrili to get the wine - he was dead.

I forgot that he can get killed in Glarthir's quest, maybe we should use his brother instead.

I'll add David Surilie and the shepherd to the NPC fix list, they weren't on it.

I figured it was the Inn of Ill Omen (maybe I'm not as bad as I thought :)) and there was no letter on the table. I saw that another poster had found a letter, so I was looking for one. I also didn't get a journal update. Any ideas?

Ok, I'll try again ;) But I didn't get the journal update when I entered the inn...

Edit: found it. Doesn't seem to be a journal update when you enter the inn, but you get one when you find the note. Completed the quest and I must say, povuholo, you are truly bent :) Ok, I think I can see what I'm in for ;)
