Is my laptop a $4,900.00 oversized paperweight or...

God the OP couldn't be more dumb

1) Buys a laptop for gaming
2) Buys Alienware
3) Mobility graphics card
4) Outdated processor (relatively speaking)
5) 8GB of ram for gaming LOL

You could get a desktop that blows that **** away for $600

I laugh so hard at OP hahaha

Another pointless "omglolwtf desktopz iz bettar" response. Doesn't anybody that plays this game have a gaming laptop?

Pretty much this 10 times over with a lot of emphasis on points 1 and 2.

Buying gaming laptops is beyond retarded. They always have weak hardware in them due to PSU and cooling restrictions or have heating problems which leads to a short lifespan.

Buying Alienware is pants on heard retarded, its the biggest rip off around. I would rather have someone break into my house and steal 5000 dollars than spend it on Alienware.

If the OP baught a laptop with those same specs elsewhere he would have saved thousands of dollars. If you are reading this OP, get a refund immediately even if you like the power your laptop has. Then go out and look for the same spec from a retailer that doesnt charge you over twice what something is worth.

Then that $2000+ you save can be spent elsewhere.

ATI has no problems. My card is runs this **** fine. Just don't be retarded and crossfire ****. Nothing in the universe requires crossfire, except maybe making high-rez textures for a game comparable to Crysis. (No, not Crysis 2. Crysis.)

No, actually I pointed out the exact problem with wasting money on a laptop. Truth hurts, huh!

Mobility graphics card = severely underpowered
Outdated processor = Sandy Bridge is far superior for a fraction of the price (relative to 'snake oil' laptop)
8GB of ram = game only addresses 3.25GB of ram and having 8gb gives ZERO performance boost.

What this guy paid for his laptop is worth 6 pages of nerdrage? really?

I guess you kind of asked for it, OP, by putting the price of your Alienware in your subject line. This is the internet, after all.

But to your point, others have already said it's the crossfire setup that's giving you headaches. That's not the laptop's fault, nor is it ATI's fault. Wait out patch/drivers and you should be all set.

Agree - 100%. Crysis is x86 "game".

It doesn't matter who cares, the OP paid an extortionate price for sub par hardware and that made my laugh my balls off.

It's more than likely a crossfire bug. ATI has a new driver version coming soon, and crysis 2 is known to be less than cooperative with multi gpu setups

I also believe that this is a multi gpu problem. Crytek has thought about a patch for this so, you may just want to wait it out until the patch is released.

It's normal price for the Alienware name, you could throw those together yourself in a desktop for less than $1000. You could also put better hardware together for around $1000.

Is there a way to enable console and view FPS? Disabled Crossfire and the game has no flickering, at all. Keep trolling, desktop lovers! Represent and keep it real!

Show me one custom laptop building company that can make a laptop with similar hardware that is inside of mine for that price of $3,000.00.

well first off everyone knows alienware pcs are 10 times the price of a computer you can build the one upside i guess is now they have that badass case with the active fins i want the case only could care less about the inside looks like a reptile or something when you see the fins moving around love lizards if anyone knows of someone getting rid of that case send me a messageboard mail XD

2nd why spend that much on a laptop there never as good as a desktop and that one in paticular is way over priced i remember a laptop that was from ibuy power that was cheaper and i think had better specs for about 4000 with tax there again i could build a sli desktop for 2000 and have a way faster rig

first of all, youre an idiot for paying $5 grand on a laptop

second of all, learn to press enter. that wall of text is ridiculous

third of all, i paid $1600 for my alienware m15x laptop and i can run crysis 2 on extreme and any other game on the highest settings. so basically you paid $3000 extra for who knows what

gg youre an idiot
