[REQ] Lydia outfit upgrade

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 7:29 am

I got my Lydia in fine clothes atm. The catch is you cant remove everything on her. Click her and type showinventory then remove the shield, and chestplate. You have to leave the boots/gauntlets or her script just replaces the whole thing. Every once in a while she'll revert to underware for me, but going to trade puts the fine clothes back on.

Just keep the bracers/boots in her inventory, it should allow you to replace whatever you want with the main clothing/armor slot.

So you are saying, as long as ou leave the boots (or gauntlets?), the script wont replace her equipment ? One step closer into the right direction...a fine dress and steel bracers look a bit strange together though :P

I did not write down the item numbers.

Hit tilde
Click lydia
type Showinventory
type removeitem (add the steel armor number here) 100

wala

I tried that before, it doesnt matter whether you type removeitem 1 or 100 or 99999999 ... Her script will always restore her default clothing.

This, in fact, applies to ALL NPCs....

I hope there are some flags we can set in the Creation Kit, or else we may have to make certain companions naked, just so we can dress them up with whatever we like...

This seems like a silly oversight on Bethesda's part. I can't wait for the mods that address exactly this. I'm trying to get Lydia to relinquish that armor of hers and she just won't do it. The idea about leaving her boots intact is intriguing though.

There is actually one more thing to Lydia : If you set her lightarmor skill higher than her heavyarmor skill, then she will prefer wearing light armor ;) Too bad that unarmored isnt available, think of all the clothing she could then wear ;)

I think Bethesda should make it so that all armor is removable if the player so wishes. And if you give them some armor, they will wear whatever is best suited to their skills. So, you can have them run around in their underclothes and die if you so happen to wish that. The player should decide.

Well, we'll know for sure what's going on once we have the CK.

I'm disappointed as well. I was hoping for at least the level of personality we had in FO3. I'm sure modders will fill in the gap.

Hello llama. Can we hope for a Skyrim port of Willow to fill the gap left by Bethesda's wooden companions? (She was the only companion mod I needed in FO:NV) :)

I would love that idea !!! :D My favorite companion of all time ! I suppose instead of a stolen rifle and teddy bear, this time it will be about stolen daggers and family heirlooms :P

I found that with smithing level 65, you can craft Lydia a set of foresworn armor that she will prefer to her steel. Looks better for those of you that are looking for that :P

Just take the foresworn costume off of some baddies near Sky Haven, and then work it at a bench. You can get it to Exquisite, I believe, at level 65. At that point it is high enough in power that Lydia will trash her steel set in favor.

Just FYI. Might as well enchant that bad boy too, give her some health.

I want her to wear the ancient nord armor (same as companion chick with warpaint) but since it must have less armor and value she won't. Can you up the damage resistance or resell value on an item? I have not been able to upgrade it enough at the forge yet and it is still unenchanted.
