Mass Effect #55

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:55 pm

Quick question about Origin. I've never bought a game from there before - do they do preloading? Or if I bought ME3 from there would I not be able to start the download til the 9th?

Am going to try and pick it up from a supermarket but they're flakey about having PC games...

Yes. According to Chris Priestly the pre-load starts tomorrow.

And the only ending i would be disappointed by would be a "happily ever after" one. Not that i have anything against happy endings, but the Reapers have been made such major threath that even beating them seem unlikely, much less without them causing major damage.

Spoiler
Skin is really shiny. Dialogue is bad. Animations are bad.
I've never pursued any ME relationship. Do they all just
Spoiler
fade to black? Not even a kiss?
Why is there so much... excitement/spectacle/discussion/outrage about ME six scenes, then? I don't get it.

In a related (?) video I got to see Shephard dance... My reaction: :lmao:

Pretty much. The most explicit scene was in ME1 with Liara that had a sideboob (or two, depending on Shepard's gender ;)) but it's a lot tamer than anything shown on TV. No clue what the big deal is

DA Origins had a little more action, but due to the glued-on underwear that was just comical :lmao:

 Mass Effect continues the proud tradition of clothed loving. Sigh. I think Bioware should avoid romance until they figure out how to do it properly... (Unintentional double entendre there.)

The outrage was primarily from people who never played and who never will play the game. They just heard there's a 'six scene' in it and then went on a crusade to protect poor innocent children from seeing side-boob.

Just finished Mass Effect 1 for the 24th time. Oh my god, I had to get it done for ME3 though. Doubt I'll be able to finish 2 before I get the game. Then again I have to wait an additional day for it to ship to me. So I could hypothetically do it.

Could easily complete ME2 in a week. For me a 100% run took 26 hours.

It's not that, it's that this will be my 5th play through of ME2. I'm getting a little tired of the whole ordeal at this point. Willpower to keep playing something I don't want to is failing basically.

I finished a ME2 run in 31 hours I believe. Then again it was on insanity and I was listening to all of the dialogue.

I have to agree, you either go 100% or don't do it at all.

The fox news incident left them feeling prudish. Ever since then they've been more and more clothed. It's silly looking. I expect in ME3 we won't see any characters at all just clothing in implied scenarios.

I found out something hilarious about that whole controversy. Remember Jack Thompson? Moral guardian supreme? Lost his license to practice law for taking his crusades too far?

Even he thought the whole Mass Effect controversy was a massive overreaction.

I've got it down to Soldier or Vanguard as my class of choice in ME3.

Edited

You are no longer penalized because of Paragon or Renegade, that is a huge step in the right direction.

Same here. I ported my save from ME1 and I'm about halfway through ME2 and need to finish it before the 6th. I probably won't play ME3 until Friday though, have too much going on. Three major tests in core classes, two ridiculously hard papers to write, and two track meets I have to compete in.

Here's a link to a youtube channel with some? all? of the OST. I really like (warning: one or two of the titles of the tracks in the sidebar spoil locations) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8TnOELAs8s&feature=related. Classic Mansell. :touched:

And (warning: the name of the track spoils a location) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLA3gypo5aQ&feature=related is really well done.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZhdXhOr8AA&feature=plcp&context=C3583373UDOEgsToPDskJjKFhxZXjo4a1RNYP9bGtt is probably the music for the end credits. Not Mansell. It's alright.

Is it just me or is that the End Credits music of ME1 but without the vocals?

The ME1 end credits song was by Faunts too, it's not the same song but it's a similar style.

So I think now I've picked the first class I'm going to play in in ME3. The Vanguard in Multiplayer is amazing with half-blast nova. Charge in, nova to stagger and/or knockdown, 1-2 shotgun blasts, nova again to finish off if necessary. I can take out entire groups of centurions or standard troopers with no trouble at all. I can even take out phantoms this way without taking any damage. The only thing vanguards seem to have trouble with is Atlas mechs.
