I had to get study notes from a friend. When I arrived at his place he was doing a completionist playthrough of ME2 in anticipation of ME3's release.

I'd forgot just how weird the environments are. Why is everything so spaced out? (Yes, I know, console limitations.) It makes the world feel really empty.

What happened to Shephard's face?

This seemed to be a bigger problem in ME 1 than 2 if I understand your complaint. In places like colonies, bases, and anywhere someone lives, the furnishings are very bare and spartan with giant open spaces. No personal effects or "junk". This was one of my biggest gripes with ME 1. TES III to V and Fallout 3 never had this problem.

I hated the Mako. That thing was just too clunky to operate. I mean it's a tech advanced era that still runs around on unexplored worlds in an ATV with a Caterpillar engine and Goodyear tires? I NEVER killed anything in that thing. I parked it and went in on foot, even Thrasher Maws. The hammerhead was not a big improvement either. A hover craft that only gets a few feet off the ground? Are you kidding me? A Taxi would be more viable. Replace the fair meter with a laser rifle and you have something.
The mako totally grew on me as I played through my first run of ME1. Once I realized I could just run over stuff and kill it, excepting the thresher maw, I would be cackling and driving around like a complete idiot. I loathed the ME2 hammerhead thing. It was just... annoying and apparently made of paper mache if you got fired on.

Why everyone hates the Mako? Myself and the friend that introduced me to Mass Effect agree that even a potato can learn to drive the Mako properly in a few minutes. PC that is, don't know how it is on consoles.
I enjoyed all Mako driving. Loved driving with sights on, reminded me of driving a tank.

The console mako drives like its the warthogs from halo....if the warthogs had all their tires blown out. Turning becomes frustrating especially when It decides that you really want to back off the cliff instead.

Or it gets stuck in the level geometry, or it loses traction on a shallow slope for no particular reason, or it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmVyaF-gQSs&feature=related.

Say what you will about the Hammerhead, but at least it went where you wanted it to go.

People lack the will of the 98.999~ society and their mastery of the mako.

Picked up #2. The only bonus to having a mixed out character from #1 is that you get to start at like level 5 right? I'm gonna make a run through #1 again bit I don't wanna have to make multiple runs if I dont have too. Also, do the DLC matter for story continuation ?

Bring down the Sky from ME 1 does.

ME2 DLC: Overlord, Arrival, Zaeed, Kasumi, and Lair of the Shadowbroker will all continue over in some fashion or another. Even if it's just a news report or a one off quest or some minor assistance against the Reapers.

You start off with extra money and resources and get a few bonus levels, that's about it. In terms of ME1 DLC, Bring Down the Sky does have at least a minor effect in that you hear news reports about what you did there. In ME2's DLC, without spoiling too much I can say that you only make a major choice in Overlord. I'd recommend picking up Arrival and Lair of the Shadow Broker if you can as well; the former to bridge the gap between 2 and 3, and the latter just because it's excellent.

Oh, and Zaeed and Kasumi's loyalty missions do have fairly major choices too, I forgot about that.

I really didn't like the Firewalker missions. You couldn't save manually while in the hammerhead so you were at the mercy of checkpoints in the levels, enemies could destroy the vehicle rather quickly if you weren't careful and the game thought it would be a good idea to have platformer sections over lava that almost instantly destroy the vehicle.

Abnout a 7-8.

I can confirm all the DLC I've listed will add to the readiness level to fight the Reapers. Not a super ton, but every little bit helps when going for the perfect ending which I hear has quit the lofty number to reach. Yes, even bring down the sky.

Completed Firewalker for the first time a few days back and it was pretty meh. Filler content.

Hell, all I care is that humans, Asari, Turians and Salarians make it. Rachni I always destroy no matter what, Krogan I'd first throw into the grinder and Batarians are just useless.
In fact if there is a way to direct the Repers to mow down the Krogan and Batarians, that will be one hell of a good ending for me.

Yeah. With a site full of MLP fans, it's surprising that people don't appreciate cute and light-hearted things

Maybe the ME and MLP fandoms don't mix much. Though i do have spotted the occasional Shepony avatar around the net :hehe:

I am probably in minority, but I see any manga-fication of any media as corrupting it, like putting mustard on a birthday cake.

I've been frequently surprised over the years, at the amount of "anti-anime" sentiment that pops up on videogame boards. I would have assumed that the two fandoms would overlap a lot more than they seem to.

But, then, I got into anime in the late 80's, before the DBZ/Naruto backlash. Never really been a fan of those style shows.

Did anyone pre-order the game from GAME? Because if you did then you're going to have to re-purchase it from Amazon or some other retailer because GAME won't be stocking any EA games in March.

Still deciding what Class I want to go as in ME3. My favorite class is soldier but Vanguard charge is awesome and Adept sounds like it's better then it was in ME2. My expections are low for ME3 but I can't wait to play it regardless, hopefully Bioware hasn't completely dropped the ball, we will see.

Edited- Just saw one of the normandy tour videos, ship is much better then both ME1 and ME2.

Liara is not light and cute, she's a major control freak that might be losing her grasp of reality. Not to mention she's over reacted once, the Drell she was so driven to save. She met like? Once? Talk about an over exaggeration. If she blames herself this much, it really isn't healthy.

@Anti-anime sentiments.
I like DBZ, and a few other anime. I don't hate it, I just have strict criteria and standards I adhere to. I don't hate Tali for being Tali. I hate Tali for her fan base trying to shove her down my throat every turn I take on the internet and in real life with all my friends. It's just sickening at this point. In their zealotry to talk about Tali, people have alienated me from her.

Yeah, it was more a general statement than specifically about this thread. Sorry bout that.

(And yeah.... I've never really understood the whole "OMG Tali!" thing. Yeah, she's a nice character and I like her, but.....)
