With spoilers very much rampant make sure to put them in a spoiler to not ruin the game for people. The spoiler tags can be used like so [spoiler r] and the matching tag would be [ / spoiler] with no spaces and removing the extra r in the first tag. Below is an example spoiler.

ALSO - In respect to povuholo, as well as the players who are reading thorough our thread, trying to avoid the details of the ending, a thread specifically for the endings has been created. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1361223-mass-effect-3-ending-discussion-thread-3-spoilers/. In light of this, it would be greatly appreciated that you do not post discussion of the ending to Mass Effect 3's ending here.

Thread Rules:
  • This is an ongoing topic for discussion about Mass Effect series, so keep the discussion on the games.
  • It is understandable if you don't like Mass Effect games. We have no problem with you sharing this, but this is an ongoing topic. As such, it is primarily based on the positive aspects of the games, so if you don't like them don't post.
  • This is an ongoing discussion and some people don't like Mass Effect games. If you try to provoke them it is just as bad. If you do disagree with someone, please don't drag it into a fight. This topic is primarily for what we like about the games and our ongoing experiences.
  • Respect forum rules. If you are unclear review them here.
  • Respect for other forum members is perhaps the most important. We all have opinions and we are all human beings. Treat each other with respect.

It is indeed. I still like Hammerhead more, it's prettier, faster and doesn't get hit (because it blows up if it does :hehe:).

Here's some helpful hints to handle the Mako:
When it goes airborne, let go of the accelerator.
Avoid hills with jagged edges.
Use the map, there propably is an easier route than a direct line. For every bulding there is a road leading up to it. Not for anomalies and wreckages though.

I think they are helpful hints, but it's much more hardcoe to do all those things as often as possible.

I lol'd hard.

I'm sorry....you may be right to some degree, but when I think of good voice acting, I don't think Freddie Prince Jr (American-Born & raised
LA, California) to be voicing an obvious Hispanic character with a Brock Lesner complex going on.
Perhaps it is more that I had no idea who was doing the voice acting. In fact, the only voice actor I know is Jennifer Hale. Perhaps that affects my judgement, perceiving the characters' voices as voices of the characters not their actors.

I wish I could shove Vega out an airlock. Something about him just annoys the heck out of me. (To the point that I probably missed some Paragon points and other things, because I tended to avoid even doing any "between the missions" conversations with him.)

Of course, if I play the game again, I'll be sure to take him

on the final mission. Get him nice and fried by a Reaper laser.

Oh, I remember that in spite of it being years back. I think I got quite cross.

I actually tried getting the Mako up there for some additional firepower; I think I got it a lot further than I was supposed to before getting completely stuck.

So I found an old 2-day pass for gold and to my luck the game I rented had a valid activation code.

This is my first experience with a horde mode type mp and I gotta say I like it a lot more than your standard CoD type games. Remind me of Borderlands in that respect. Anyway, I'll probably be buying this game before to long, so far it's pretty damn entertaining, besides the vast amount of auto-dialogue

That fight can be tricky, I know I died once or twice there because I didn't realize where the Armature was and he blasted me with his energy ball.

I was wondering do you keep your weapons if you transfer a profile from Mass Effect 1 to Mass Effect 2? I keep hearing about this Geth Pulse Rifle and how you can only get it on Insanity or Hard on ME 2 but I got it in a drop at Virmire on ME1

You don't keep weapons between games.

Oh, i forgot one: make use of the jump jets. You can somewhat control your falls with them, but don't burn them too long or they need to cool down.

I always hide behind the structure to the left. Lead the other geth and pick them off, and if you got a sniper and the skill there are holes in the wall you can fire from.

He can't use his energy blast on the structure so just back a safe distance for splash damage.

Thats how I did it the first time.

Auto dialogue?

Some people feel that there's too many "automatic" lines between each dialogue choice you get to make. And/or scenes with dialogue that don't have choices.

(I don't currently have an opinion. I didn't notice it while playing, and haven't played the SP game - or the earlier games, for comparison - since I've seen the comments about it.)

Timing question. Avoid the glowing ball of death, that is a one hit kill, always. That thing is actually more difficult than the Colossus in ME2 :hehe:

Space mage has proven to be quite fun class to play in ME2, singularity explosions and pull/throw combinations provide a funny and effective way dealing with enemies. Warp and Reave deal with barriers and armor quite well too, only thing giving me trouble are shields, but that what the Collector Particle Beam is for :hehe:

Mass Effect 3 starts in Vancouver and Major. K is from Vancouver. It's nice to play a game where I can relate to a place I'm from. I was getting sick of games being in New York, the states ext.

Perhaps it is more that I had no idea who was doing the voice acting. In fact, the only voice actor I know is Jennifer Hale. Perhaps that affects my judgement, perceiving the characters' voices as voices of the characters not their actors.

I have always had the habit of picking up on character voices with being actors / actresses that I am familiar with. When I first heard Jennifer's voice during Mass Effect 1, I was like: "Holy crap, that's Sheena from Tales of Symphonia!". Mass Effect 2 had a few, but the 1 that stuck out the most was Michael Hogan (Captain Bailey), who had notible roles such as Colonel Saul Tigh from Battlestar Galatictica, Dr. Mitchell from New Vegas, as well as General Tullias from Skyrim.

Another voice acting / character annoyance I have is with Jessica Chobot as Diana Allers. Half the time I'm expecting her to randomly spew out IGN tips of random in-series games to her floating camera. As for her character model: don't get the wrong idea on this - I personally find her quite attractive IRL, but her game character comes off looking like some hippie burnout that looks like shes in her late 30's when her character is probably in their mid - 20's.

Then theirs Javik, who sounds sooooo Jamaican. I was seriously expecting "ya maan" out of his mouth at regular intervals.

I'm not trying to sound overly critical - it's just annoying that my head picks up on these things and I'm having a hard time getting past it. I mean I will, but it'll take abit.

Autodialoge is a huge problem in ME3, probably the number 1 reason why I don't have the game right now.

Mass Effect 1 had virtually no autodialoge at all, their were only a couple of points where it was autodialoge but it made sense when it happened. Some people will argue that Mass Effect 1 had an illusion of choice where selecting one of 3 options would lead to the same response. That occured sometimes but not a lot.

Mass Effect 2 added in more autodialoge but you still had plenty of choices in conversations and they added in the Paragon/Renegade Interrupts, those were great additions. The times where the game autodialoge made sense and felt better from a cinematic point of view.

Mass Effect 3 dropped the ball with dialoge, the game is basically 90% autodialoge and you'll be lucky to get 1 to 2 choice options occuring in conversations and most of the time they amounted to nothing and then more autodialoge. It's not noticeable the 1st time through but when you do a 2nd and 3rd replay, that's when you'll begin to notice that Shepard will say the exact same thing regardless of Paragon/Renegade rating. That to me hurts Roleplaying and replay value although that's just my opinion.

It's even funnier with Insanity, which I'm trying now for the first time.

I've just started another ME1 game and had forgotten how creepy some of the ambient music is. Far more atmospheric than subsequent games...

It sounds very deep and awe like.

How small you are in the universe etc, etc, more emotional drivel.
