Personally I don't see the big fuss. It's not like it's 'teh evilz'. It's a fun experience IMO, and I don't even care about 80-90% of the options in the pack. So imagine how much fun someone who does care about the pack is having.

Technic is the main compilation, whereas Tekkit is the revision with only Bukkit-ready mods.

There will be a use for them. Same with marble, basalt, tungsten, and gems, Eloraam included all the resources before adding a use so that you wouldn't have to keep ditching your maps every time the mod updates.

Someone went on the website Jeb uses to get the foreign language translations for Minecraft, and 'Ocelot' and 'Cat' were both new words that needed to be translated, so I'm guessing that's what the mob in the picture was.

You would need the Tekkit pack if you want back on the server.
