They already have it. Why do you think that they always attack from behind when they have a chance?

They also try to hide behind walls when you're looking in their general direction.

Exept now they can be made to seek out doors and other crafted blocks to hide there.

The day Creepers learn to open doors is the day I never come down from my penthouse ever again. ;-;

They may have AI but that doesn't mean they have pathfinding. They're not smart enough to move around objects which means they're just moving in a straight line towards objects or locations they prefer. You can exploit this to force them into a bottleneck so you can kill them more easily. On more than one occasion I've placed cactus at the corner of a wall to do most of the work for me.

Well, looks like the advanced machines addon is no longer needed.

In case anyone wants to plan out different IC2 reactor designs, here's an online planner.

Does this mean you are planning the reactors now? I hope so, I can't wait for teleporters, terraformers and goodness know what else.

Jens uploaded this, it's a test of an API...

:ooo:
okay... is that a mod he made using their test api or is that an in game "construction set" [for lack of better words]...
... i suppose now is a good time to ask what API is supposed to stand for.

ooooooooooooooooooooo I bet Mirg would find this quite useful.
meh, im not making any kind of cinimatic videos or series so that would be quite useless to me, or i just can't think of a way to use a multi angle cinematic whatever that was.

Shoot, I could make massive use of those camera angles. I can feel the ideas blowing up in my head as I type this.

Do you know the name of the plugin? There's more than one faction plugin out there, and they all probably work very differently.

IMPORTANT

The Tekkit server now runs Smart Movement. Smart Movement is a mod that allows parkour, improved swimming, crawling while prone, sliding, etc.

The mod includes animations. HOWEVER, you need to install the mod client-side to be able to use the new features and possibly see the animations (That's logical, I haven't confirmed the latter myself).

You CAN still play on the server without the mod installed. You just won't be able to do any of the cool new stuff, and people who do do it may look strange.

Download link here: http://tesfan.mchost.org/downloads/smartmovetechnic.zip

Also: Smart Movement adds two new keys that conflict with previously set ones. Might have to go into your settings and change that.

To clarify: SmartMove allows advanced movement, better animations, and is generally just pretty cool without taking anything away from minecraft. If you choose not to install it, you will still be able to play without any issues, other than only being able to see classic minecraft animations.
Installation to an alread setup technic install is as simple as downloading the .zip, extracting the contents and copying all the files in the "SmartMoving Client for ModLoaderMp" into your minecraft.jar by opening it with your favorite compession program(7zip, Windowsixplorer, WinZip, ect).
SmartMove is not currently setup to the vanilla minecraft server.

It seems to be the game using YouTube's API to upload in-game videos to YouTube.

API stands for "Application Programming Interface" - it's a bunch of methods a programming library or stand-alone program has which can be called from other programs to control it. The main difference between it and the "user interface" or "UI" is the intent - UIs are designed to be operated by humans, APIs by other programs.

The same thing exists in physical world as well: Your car has a set of controls you use to steer it with (that's the UI), but also (for anything built this century) an interface which your car dealer or mechanic can plug his computer into to check the logs and other sensor data and fine-tune the electronics (that's the car's API).

Since when has Minecraft just deleted saved games out of nowhere?
I was playing yesterday and my laptop overheated because multiple people used it that day so I'd expect to be able to just reboot and get back to my map, nope, completely gone even the recent saves etc were all wiped. I would have at least been happy with a ""Can't load a corrupted save" message but

Does this thing always happen if the computer just shuts down without saving, if so I assume hitting "X" would do the same?

Your save wasn't deleted, it was just corrupted and thus won't show up in the save list. You can go to your .minecraft folder, open that save, and replace level.dat with level.dat_old (as in, rename level.dat_old to level.dat, and name the original level.dat level.corrupt or something). Usally works.

What mods do you guys use?

I have Optifine, Dynamic Light Mod, Rei's Minimap and Mine Little Pony.

I plan to install the Dynamic Shadow Shader when it's more betterer (I want to have no shadows cast on sky without turning off the sky, and the ability to tune down the bloom) Water Shader when it's upgraded to be Optifine compatible, and Tekkit once Mine Little Pony is Forge compatible (pony skins just don't look right when not on a pony model, plus they are adorable)

I don't run any mods except the Technic pack the server is using and the mod that Ex linked to. If you count texture packs, Painterly Pack as well.
