Just get on the ladder below
But that's a lot slower then standing on the top ladder and simply holding down the button. It's perfectly logical to be able to stand on top of a ladder. People do it all the time in real life.

It is a slight inconvenience but not something that you can't get used to. Get a few ladders below hold shift an take out all the ladders above

Yes, it's not a big deal, but that's not the point. The point is that it perfectly logical to be able to stand on a ladder and createing this inconvenience is pointless.

I suppose. What was the actual reason for taking away the collision box?

Who is Nova and what is Parkour?

I kinda wish Notch was still in charge. He wouldn't have given a damn.

Easiest way is to just uninstall Minecraft, assuming you put the Technic files with your MC files, and just run a clean install. If you have your Technic pack in a seperate file, just purge that file from your system. I'd still recommend running a clean install to be safe.

.....you updated to 1.1 didn't you? (It's okay, I did too by mistake ;-; )

Technic isn't 1.1 compliant, you need to downgrade 1.0.

I'll figure out how to do that then, it's total [censored] I told it not to update to 1.1.

Talk to Mr.Tankjump, he has some kind of fix for that. That's how he helped me get to 1.0 again. The man is a tech genius.

To all those running Painterly, the telethon textures have been released, as well as the new textures added in 1.1.

Yeah, I'm kinda not bothered about technic and it's unsightly strip mines. Also I miss my old texture pack. But it seems most people really like the technic stuff more.

90 percent of the stuff in Technic doesn't interest me in the slightest. The only reason I installed it was because the vanilla server pretty much emptied as soon as the Technic server was up and running and I wanted to play online. However I did find a way to use my old texture pack with it.

As far as major mods go I think Technic over-extends itself. There's way too much stuff in it and most of it doesn't thematically work together. I would prefer if they just picked one mod out of the Technic pack and used it exclusively. Or pick some other big mod that's not a mod pack like Better Than Wolves or The Aether.

Its funny how even though there are torches everywhere adn on every side of every object there are still shadows.

Like when he could see his own shadow there was a torch right at the end of it, there shouldn't have been a shadow there.

But otherwise very nice.

Actually the main two mods (Industrial Craft and Buildcraft) do actually work together. Piping works fine on IC machines and you can use BC fuel to power IC machines. Thank to power converters we can even use Minecraft Joules (Buildcraft energy) to create EU (Industrialcraft energy) and vice-versa. I personally love the fact we've been playing at least a week and we still haven't really used all the top tier stuff.

Really? How? Was it a 16x16 pack?

And yeah, I tend to be rather conservative with my modding. I would never have attempted to make all that stuff work together in Morrowind or Fallout 3, but at least the server one doesn't use every damn thing in it. I heartily dislike mod compilations.

Hmm, does optifine work with Technic? That might provide 32x32 support without the need for MCpatcher.

Yeah, I used Optifine. Supposedly Technic already has Optifine in it but I think it's an older version that doesn't support high-res textures. Just install a recent version of Optifine and it should work... fine...

For anyone who want the advanced machines, here's the link showing where to get them:

Keep in mind the advanced solar panels are not SMP compatible yet. So don't try building them!

To be honest, Technic itself doesn't fascinate me. The only things I like is making a vending machine, marble and basalt, nukes and the indigo flowers. Overall I'm not all that interested in the jetpacks and et cetera. I just hopped on the bandwagon so as not to play on a dead server.
