AK-47 Mod?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 1:08 pm

Well, that one guy had a really cool lore friendly idea with the Dwemer technology rifle.

It was a really cool idea and fairly well integrated into Morrowind, and you may have gotten slightly less bad feed back if you would have asked for a Dwemer Rifle and linked back to the Morrowind mod, I wont say people would have not hated the idea still, maybe just a little less hated it. It was the AK-47 that I think just threw all of us Elder Scrolls Fan Boys into a frenzy.

Meh, guns itself wouldn't be a problem for me. I mean we've got pirates already, east empire trading company etc. Some really old-stiley one-shot flintlock guns wouldn't break the general vibe in those locations for me at all. In fact, I could actually even imagine one or two of them hanging on the weapon display plaques in Honeyside

Yeah, AK-47 is overkill, but you'd think that with Dwemer tech and magicka they'd have something like a gun.

TC of New Vegas would be infinitely easier than trying to TC this game into a modern setting. I want a good Deus Ex TC for NV.. :D

Why AK-47? Why not AK-103?

The reactions people have here are bizarre. How does it hurt your experience of the game if someone else wants to mod in something you don't like? If you see a mod idea you don't like, it's not helping anybody to jump in and say you hate it. The people who want the mods you don't aren't going to stop because you don't want to download it. Just ignore it and move on.

As far as mechanics, I think you could find several ways to do this. I think the absolute easiest would be to make a staff that fires a "firebolt" type spell with a much higher velocity. I think using the bows would be trickier, since I imagine the draw back portion of the action is hard-coded. If you could get the velocity set high enough it would be essentially instant. Considering how fast the arrows travel in Skyrim it feels a bit redundant, but it can probably be done.

^ What he said.

Also might be possible to use something similar to the novice destruction spells that are just streams of fire, ice or lightning. Just, you know, little projectile thingies. And give it a damage over time too. Probably also possible to add that spell to a staff like mentioned.

Also if anyone does create one based on a Dwemer textures, I would love to include it in my Dwemer quest mod!

Wow. Get over it. Go read another thread. Why would anyone want to bash on the development of any mod? There is ZERO possibility of it having any effect whatsoever on YOUR game. Who cares how other people play their game? Untwist your underwear, people.

Plus, second emptythe's idea. :)

Reaction to nvde Mod: Live and let live!

Reaction to mention of "gun": OH MY GOSH!!! CRUCIFY HIM NOW!
Not really... For me its:

Reaction to nvde mod: Seriously people? Seriously?

Reaction to gun mod: Interesting. I personally wouldn't use it, but sure!

Guys don't shoot down the idea of a gun mod, you don't have to use it.

On that note, however: In order to add a fully animated gun to the game, we need to be able to add additional weapon animation groups. Which, we have not been able to do in previous games. So, if we can in Skyrim, an AK could be added, otherwise it could not. We will have to wait until the CK is out to tell.

There is no obligation to download and install every mod on the Skyrim Nexus...just for the heads up. The existence of a gun mod won't make your copy of Skyrim have a melt down, man.

Hilarious thing: I personally would love a mod such as this. So I could do a short story mod about WHY TAMRIEL DOESN'T HAVE GUNS.

Alchemist: "Oh snap, look at this awesome thing we just made! It puts warriors to shame and can kill a mage before he blinks. ALCHEMY IS SUPREME!"

[Mages find out where this rogue alchemy lab is.]

[FIREBOLT.]

[Sound of popping, as the powder in the shells bursts. Huge explosion as the fire spreads to the kegs.]

Alchemist: "OW OW OW, OKAY, WE WON'T DO THAT NO MORE! STOP THE EXPLOSIONS AND BURNINGS AND HURTEY THINGS!"

[The Future: a suede booted mage stomping on your family jewels forever.]

I've never played CoD...what gives?

And your copy of Skyrim will STAY without guns. No worries! From what I understand, mods are not contagious viruses.

It would be a fun idea and I'm sure people out there would download it. You just got unlucky in getting responses from the kind of people who spend time out of their day to rant about others' clothing decisions and so forth...

I've never played any Elder Scrolls games with any guns. I just thought It would be fun. I love Skyrim; why else would I spend hours looking for a GameStop I couldn't find and spend $60 dollars on it if I didn't? One reason why I love Skyrim is that you can PLAY IT ANY WAY YOU WANT TO. There is no nonsense way of playing it.

Great idea.

How about a car/motorcycle mod? Any chance of a Liberty City mod? I'd like to play Skyrim as Niko.

Can someone add the Pandaren as a playable race?
