I'm actually going to be siding with Caesar's Legion, but not for armor. I'm intrigued by this pseudo-Roman faction who although utilizes slavery is unifying tribes that normally would be killing each other because the other tribe made fun of their god, and instead using them for much bigger goals.
Plus it seems like the whole David vs. Goliath story; little guy takes on a giant and defeats the giant. And I want to be the one hurling that stone right into the NCR's temple.
As much as I do like the armor we've seen (I always try to outfit myself with a trenchcoat or trenchcoat style piece of clothing) I may not end up siding with either faction. I might end up siding more with the wasteland communities over NCR or Caesar's Legion. As has been said since I would like the ranger armor I'm likely to either kill one to get it, or maybe team up with them for one fight and see if I can't get one of them killed so I can take the armor for myself.
I've yet to make my decision on which faction to join. Although, I'll more than likely finish Fallout 2 by the time New Vegas is released, so there's plenty of time to learn about the NCR.
im playing on the side of the N.C.R because i liked them in fallout 2.
there armor being cool is just a bonus.
plus the desert armor isnt the first armor you get if you side with the N.C.R (i assume) you probably have to work real hard for them to get it. i would say you just start out in those military uniform
plus there is probably an CL armor thats better looking then the standard that you can unlock from doing alot of missions for him too.
Eh, I may partially work for the NCR, but I'm siding with Mr. House, yes the armor is cool, but I'll just pull a Fallout 3 and wait till a comrade dies in battle, then loot the corpse. It's an effective system. I enjoy aesthetics, but I prefer looking sharp over '133T' and crap. So eh.
I have to disagree with the statement about Caesar's Legion armor svcking. The armor the OP is talking about is grunt armor. NCR grunt uniforms look crappy too. The Legion elite officer type armors look awesome, just like with the NCR Ranger and Desert Armor.

Actually, I agree. Caesers Legions armor is very creative, from a distance, it all looks like Roman Empire armor, from up close, you see each piece is scavenged equipment lovingly crafted to appear Roman. I find it very amazing from a design perspective.
Yeah but they also wear berets which are just about the dorkiest thing a man can wear.
Caesar's Legion outfits aren't spectacular but I would say as a faction, they're definitely more awesome than NCR.
Just really badass in general. At the moment, I'm leaning towards NCR but I'm still willing to hear Caesar's side of things. I would love to join Caesar's Legion on my "good" playthrough if he can give me a decent the ends justify the means speech without making it sound like a self serving pile of bs and greed.
In the defense of the CL. Red capes are always awesome. And only real men wear skirts and banana hammocks.
Also I'll either try to side with House if I like his goals, I'm siding with whoever wants to help the people of the wasteland overall or help the tribals if there are any.

ALso I'll either try to side with House if I like his goals, I'm siding with whoever wants to help the people of the wasteland overall or help the tribals if there are any.
I can only imagine the chaffing that banana hammock brings on long marches in the desert. :cryvaultboy:
I must admit, I am somewhat prejudiced against the tribals in the fallout universe which is why I partially find CL and them taking control of the tribes and getting them to cut that crap out so tempting.
It just seems like the stupidest sort of lifestyle you can adopt in a post apocalyptic wasteland riddled with guns, giant monsters and radiation and a quick way to die.
I'm not siding with the pansy, beret wearing NCR nor am I siding with the Roman wannabe's who wear football equipment....I'm siding with Mr. House.....He currently holds all the cards(Pun very intended)

You mean Walt?
I don't know, if you side with him, all you're probably going to get is a mickey mouse hat, the rank of "Imagineer" and a ticket to Rapture.
I'm kinda curious if you HAVE to fight the Nightkin remnants...
I'm curious about this too. I'm guessing you do have to fight them if you want Raul, or at the very least you can smooth-talk Tabitha into handing him over peacefully.
